It works like a champ. Never had an RV AC before, but this thing is pretty quiet. It cools that camper down in a hurry. Of course, it isn't 90 out. I can't wait until it is[emoticon] I have it running off of 30amp. The next thing to do is see how it does with the 15amp adapter on the 30 plug. After that, how it does on my Honda 2000 generator. I am very happy with it so far. Thanks.

THE NUMBERS
13.5k BTU draws about 9 amps when running at full blast. For some reason the amp jumps within 0.5 amp.
It has all soft start, so you don't hear traditional thuds.
I had the unit running in my garage yesterday for > 2 hr and did not have water drips (not that with 6% humidity water last long here)
The only complain I have is that remote display is not very clear.
I have 5 modes for operation and all of them have icons only, who are not clear to interpret. I might have to make additional label for it.

Interesting but good...

I tested lot of AC over the years and looks to me that rated amps are more for starting.
My 15k Carrier 15 years ago was operating at 8.6 amp
The Lance 12k (?) at 6.3
I also suspect that the BTU ratings are often misinterpreted.
Just from above numbers - 15k draws 8.3 amps, when new 13.5k 9 amps.
Thinking back, I think the 15k Carrier was not really 15k.

Works off of my Honda 2000 generator. Cooled the camper right down. I ran it for about two hours. Fridge and microwave were off. Very happy with the thing so far.

Of the A/C, or generator? Didn’t notice any difference inside, the generator was normal level with just the fan, but when the compressor kicked on, the generator was bearing down. Double the noise.

Were you running the 2000 in ECO mode?

Thanks for providing the initial question which was, would the 2000 run the AC.
,
What I would like to see is how many watts/amps was needed to sustain the compressor and fan when in cooling mode.

Thanks for providing that bit of info... So did the 2000 trip in Eco on AC start or did you just run it in non echo?

Next we need the run wattage/amps...

I know that the 9000 penguin would start on Eco with the soft start mod. at least that was reported an verified by Reddog1.

Jim
