Good news/bad news: Brevard County health Dep't in FL announced that they are accepting folks aged 65+ for vaccination. One has to call and make an appointment for vaccination. Yay!!

The bad news: - yesterday, the phone lines were absolutely jammed. I tried a dozen times to get through.... Today, the phone number is "temporarily unavailable". I'm going to guess they figure they've already filled all available slots?

Sigh - I've managed to avoid getting Covid this long, I figure I can wait a while longer.

We're in Lake County, same info. Problem will be in Central Florida, and Florida in general, we have a large senior population. One of our neighbors called, redialing six hours straight, busy - busy - busy, finally got an answer - No appoints left, we filled hours ago.

We'll wait a bit longer, but would be nice to have a 'filled notice' on recording so folks would know and not spend a day wearing out the dialing or poking finger. But, of course WTG, WHTH ...

There has to be a better way to coordinate and administer vaccinations!!

Perhaps work through the Medicare or Social Security data bases first to connect vial email or text then schedule without the necessity to have a human answer a phone except in special circumstances. They could work in order by birth date with the oldest going first.

The faster we get this done the faster we dim the spread of the virus.

Just got a notice - email - the clinic stopped the reservations, and now open at 9AM to 4PM until they run out ... no reservations, first come, first serve. Seniors and Medical Personnel priority - bring your ID.

This is Lake County, Central Florida. Don't know about any other counties, but I'm betting the phone trick did not work well.

No word yet down here and the infected ratio is so high they stopped keeping track. For whatever reason late teens and 20's are getting the same symptoms as the worst kind of influenza but their folks have COVID.

México may or may not wait until USA approval of the FDA. The limited supply of Pfizer and Moderna is being consumed by health care professionals. I will ask a private physician for advice next week.

Mexican news is reporting Floridians are waiting in line overnight to get jabbed

How will you educate the people who deny the existence of covid and hence will not take the vaccine.

Such a difference state to state.

In Indiana we have a web site that lists vaccinations given and information. It's not a free for all to get vaccinations.

We're starting with health care personnel

Indiana Health Dept wrote:

Licensed and unlicensed healthcare workers who have in-person contact with patients or infectious material in any healthcare setting will receive an invitation to schedule a vaccination appointment from the Indiana Department of Health, Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, employers and healthcare associations over the next week (12/28 through 1/4). Please be patient, make sure your email is updated with Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, and continue to check your email and SPAM.

We'll see the procedures after these vaccinations have been given.

I'm near a super chill storage site,if that's what you call them. They have done the med centers personal and gov't people locally. Even our police chief and his office. BUT...our police force is shut down due to the high level of outbreaks here. Both hospitals within 45 miles are maxed out. No mention of how many may be on vents though.

And tonight is party night...so we will see in another week or so. A local bar is open in town doing karaoke even. I'll see the new year tomorrow when I wake up.

Update: the Brevard Health Department's phone line crashed from all the calls, so now they have gone to an online reservation system called "Eventbrite". MUCH better than phoning; but at the moment, all the available appointments for the month of January are taken.

The good news I've learned from the Brevard folks: they WILL vaccinate Snowbirds - all they are asking for is a photo ID. I hope the rest of the state feels the same way?

Not a single word about COVID19 inoculations in San Diego area..
I wonder what gives? No word in Mexico either. "Soon" is growing old.
