Lucid Air just took the crown for the fastest (pre) production luxury sedan in the world. They just ran a quarter mile beside a Tesla P100D and beat them. (The Tesla was not a plaid model from what I read). The lucid did it in 9.9 seconds and trapped at 144 mph. If the Lucid goes into production it will be the king. Lucid isn’t clear on pricing yet for this model but it’s expected to be around 140,000 to 180,000. Other models expected to start around 80,000 so competitive with some Tesla models. So roughly 30 percent more than Tesla for the fast one. But it also has an expected EPA range of 500 miles which is 100 miles more than the Tesla. No zero to sixty times mentioned but speculation that is under 2 seconds is already out there. Woohoo. Literally almost twice as fast as our model 3.

Home charge rates at 19.2 KW which is what Tesla model S you to have with the dual charger option until 2017.

I love that the competition is heating up.

Now go get em Elon. Show us what the Plaid P100D can do.

On edit. Fixed the price estimates. Was working off the CAN exchange rate.

For giggles and grins go back about 500 pages In this thread, skip thru and look at all the bankwupt predictions, lots full of unsold cars and general cheerleading that if the stars came together Tesla would be bankrupt by 2017, I mean 2018, I mean 2019, ok maybe 2020, So many broken dreams.

I guess they can hope for 2021.

Hey, hey, hey, let them deliver my Cybertruck first.[emoticon]

I'm glad none of them put their money where their mouth is -- like a lot of those short sellers that got burned, big time.

Considering that the Tesla Semi is poised for volume production, it would be surprising if the company only produces a conservative number of the vehicles until 2025. It would be out of character for Tesla, for example, if the company only produces about 1,000 units of the Semi every week by 2025, considering that the Class 8 long-hauler is a pet project of the company’s Automotive President, Jerome Guillen. While Tesla is yet to confirm if it has indeed started producing the Semi, it seems certain that by 2025, Gigafactory Texas will already be producing the vehicle at scale. And when that happens, Wood Mackenzie’s estimates of 54,000 units (even on a yearly basis) might be proven conservative.

There must be some serious timeline management involved in a project like that.
