I was working on the left rear corner, inside, mostly, today.

This pic shows the floor framing that I removed. The yellow lines indicate the framing that I removed. I was hoping to get the new pieces cut and welded in today, but I just didn't have enough time.

The yellow circle is where the factory "moved" one of the floor joists in order to allow the vent for the black tank to come up through the floor...Oops.

The black tank was under the aluminum flooring in this area, and had to be removed. It was only held on with 4 bolts, which were holding up 2 straps underneath the tank.

Also, the box that held the power cord was behind the black tank, and needed to be removed as well.

Hope to get the framing welded back in tomorrow.

I almost forgot. Had to run to the big box store today and pick up some more welding wire. Bought another 2 rolls.

So, we have $465.40 plus another $27.50 = $492.90.

Here is a little tidbit I discovered, and will share with you about the back end of this motor home.

About a week and a half ago, we had a severe thunderstorm, with major rain. I happened to be in the motor home during this time, and discovered that the area in the rear cap, that houses the turn/tail/backup light assembly, was leaking like a sieve.

That is something that I had not thought of before. So, I decided to try a little test with tape.

In this first picture, you can see the silver tape that I put on the rear cap, at the top of the lights. If you look off to the right, where the yellow arrow is, you can see how the back cap comes down at an angle, and is just like that over the lights.

That provides a wonderful path for rain to follow, and run down to the lights. By putting the tape on, I thought that would redirect the rain, so it would miss running down on the lights.

Today we had another rainstorm. The next image is from the inside, and you can see, there is a small wet spot below the lights. Based on the amount of rain we had today, I am surprised that there isn't more water in there. S0 - the tape worked. Just changing the angle of how the water will run down the rear cap, makes a huge difference.

Today I finally replaced the floor framing that was bad in the left rear corner of the coach.

I removed those bad areas yesterday, and ran out of time to get the new steel cut and welded in, so, I finally had time today to cut and weld in the new 1.5" x 1.5" flooring steel today. Yay!!!!!!

Here is the pic from today, and the new steel is inside the yellow rectangle.

Next step is to weld in more wall studs.

Yup. Not a big surprise on this rig. This thing was through the mill before I ever bought it.

So, I was in the motor home today welding in more studs on the drivers side wall, and I had a little oops.

Seems as though I got a little too close to my scraper shield keeping me from burning through the fiberglass. Yup, I very gently tack welded my scraper fast......

This is another pic of the area in the left rear, that is dry today. If you look at the above pic, you can see there was not much water coming in after my little tape trick, above. Definitely not running in, like it was without the tape above.

Removed a window today, in what used to be the bathroom.

You can see by the yellow arrows, the screw holes, in the inner ring, where the screws go, that holds the window in place from the inside.

The red line, shows the piece that get screwed into, and is part of the outside piece of the window assembly.

You can also see the white, very sticky stuff, that the factory installed in order to help prevent leaks.

Here is another view from a different angle, pulling the inner ring off.

Also, a view of the rear of the ring being pulled off, with the really gooey stuff.....
