Yea, too much water intrusion where it's not supposed to be, will do that.

If you want to do something, you will find a way.
If you don't, you will find an excuse.

Big update tonight.

I went to my steel supplier this afternoon. Yup, one of the coldest days of the last month, and I'm going outside to load some steel.

Here's what I picked up. 5 pieces of 1" x 1.5" x .083 steel lengths of 24 feet.

Also picked up, 4 full 24 foot lengths of 1.5" square tubing, .083" thick.

Why, you might ask? Well, read on....

My wife and I jumped into the truck to go for the steel this afternoon, and I said to her, "tell me I have not completely lost my mind".

She replied, "concerning what"?

I said, "the motor home project".

She replied, "I can't say that".

Well, at least she did NOT emphatically say that I actually HAVE lost my mind.... Lol...

Thanks, dear. Lol...

Now, you may remember these first 2 pics, from a little while back.

They are of the right side of the rig, between the entry door, and the right front wheel.

These pics are of the steel framing of the wall, and as you can see, it was in pretty sad shape.

The second pic is a closer pic of the first one.

You will also remember, that I replaced that wall steel with all new steel, a portion of which is shown here.

On the inside of that wall, is some of the floor framing, and the red arrow shows the 1.5 x 1.5 floor framing, that gets welded to the wall framing.

What I didn't mention when I replaced the wall framing was, that the outer section of the floor framing, looks just about like the wall framing, above.

So, even with all the wall replacement I did, I never welded this section onto the floor framing, because I was planning to replace this section of floor framing.

So, it's time to replace this piece also.

Having too much time to think about this situation, I decided, ya know, for another hundred bucks or just over, I can replace all of the floor framing.

Then, I won't have 34 year old steel, welded to new steel. It will all be new. It should be a fairly routine replacement, as, after I replace this piece, all I need to cut and weld in, are mostly, cross pieces.

So, that will be the next piece of this project. Floor joist replacement.

Yay, Me......

So, we can add another $285.00 to our already total of $1270.84 for a new grand total of ---- $1555.84.

However, here is a pic from the past.

Here is a pic of the steel frame that was used to hold the handrail in place, next to the entry door.

It's not even close to being square.

In this particular application, it really doesn't matter, but it is just an interesting tidbit.
