This next pic is just for informational purposes ONLY.

A few years ago, I was trying to warm up the garage a bit to be able to work there, and I had a light bulb moment.

This pic is of a gas burner that my son was using to heat up a wok to "grill" veggies.

So, I figured, hey, I'll just use this burner to heat up the garage.

Now, this pic, shows the burner with a piece of steel on top. Originally I tried just running the burner without the steel on top.

It took between 4-5 hours before the garage was at a reasonable temp for what I was trying to do.

The next day, I put this piece of steel on top. Within 45 minutes, the garage was at the same temp as the day before.

Both days, the starting temp was the same.

So, that taught me something. For one, it's not always how much heat you are producing, as the output was the same on both days.

Being able to transfer that heat to the air, is a different situation.

Food for thought.....

You can file these next 2 pictures under, thinking outside the box....

Yup, those are pennies. Flooring, and a counter top made of pennies.

In both cases, a heavy coat of epoxy is poured on top of these, so you are walking and working on the epoxy, not the actual pennies.

Takes roughly about 250 pennies or so, to do a square foot.

Outside the box..........

Remember this photo from a week or so ago?

This is at the front of the roof/wall area on the passenger side, just above the co-pilot's seat.

The green circle is part of the roof structure, and the red circle is part of the wall structure, with the aluminum holding the wall and roof together.

So, I was out in the motor home today, and I discovered something I had not seen before.

The following pic, shows the front cap area, with a piece of steel on the right side. (red arrow)

The yellow arrow points to another piece of steel, which is part of the roof area. If you notice, there is a piece of wood in between those two pieces of steel.

The red circle area is shown in the next photo.

And here it is. This shows a closer version of the front cap area and the roof area.

The 2 yellow arrows point to steel pieces and ARE welded together, creating a 90 degree joint.

The 2 red arrows also point to steel pieces, and are also part of the roof structure, and those 2 pieces ARE also welded together.

The 1.5" x 1.5" piece of wood in between, separates those 2 pieces of steel, and stops those pieces of steel from being welded together.

That would be the green circle area, and that wood extends across the roof to the other side of the roof.

Here is a close up of that area on the passenger side.

If you look closely, just to the right of the wood, you can see the end of a piece of tubing.

That tubing, is part of the roof structure, (right side above), is shown and that is the end of the tubing. That tubing runs all the way to the rear of the coach.

So, backing off a little bit with the camera, and these yellow arrows show the top piece of steel of the wall, and that runs all the way to the rear of the coach.

Above that, is the distinct 2 parts of the roofing structure. One to the right of the wood, and the other one to the left of the wood.

I had just assumed (never good), that the entire roof structure, including the area underneath the front cap, was all one welded structure, and it is not. It is actually 2 welded sections.

So, if I wanted to, I could remove the steel structure to the left of the wood, without touching the roofing structure on the right.

Who knew? Hope that explanation makes sense.

So, this pic is from just behind the wood piece above, and the aluminum piece that holds the roof and wall together is shown here.

You will notice the red arrows are pointing to screws, which were covered up on the inside of the coach with plastic trim.

The pic above, shows this same aluminum piece, but that front section has no screws in it.

I guess I will find out what those screws are holding at a later date.

For those of you on the left coast, south west, and deep south, who have never encountered severe cold temperatures - you haven't lived until you walk outside in sub freezing temps, and every breath you take, freezes whatever moisture is in your nose... Lol..

It's a real trip.
