I tow a single place trailer behind my 33' 5er to haul either my GL1800 or KLR650. I have a wireless back up camera that I can use to peek at the bike when I want to ensure straps are secure, etc. A lot less strain on the 5er than what you mention.
We make a couple of trips each year to NW Arkansas to ride.

One thing that hasn't been pointed out yet is to make sure addind this to your frame doesn't void the frame/trailer's warranty or anf help from them in the future, get a swivel wheel.

What I am trying to do is to tap into the wisdom of the group here. I'm trying to attach the bike to the trailer. If you don't think that is a good idea, tell me and explain why. Don't tell me to buy a toy hauler or a Idaho tote or anything else like that. I'm on a limited budget. I've worked as a teacher most of my life and thus don't have the funds some of you seem to have.
If I can't find a way to attach the bike I'll do without a bike, but I really enjoy riding, been riding since I was 14 and I'm 67 now. We'll be retiring next summer. When that happens we will head out on an extended trip; not sure where or how long yet.
I've thought about hauling the bike on the front of the truck; already installed the receiver hitch up there. But recently I was talking with a good friend, who is very mechanically minded, and he suggested I put the motorcycle on the back of the trailer.
A different friend hauled a 1000cc motorcycle on the back of a bumper pull travel trailer. He went to Yellowstone and back to MN. He had no problems. So, now I'm considering doing that.
I have a motorcycle that weighs 388 lbs. Maybe I need to get a lighter bike. Not sure.
If I haul it on the front there are issues with head lights, turn signals and air flow to the radiator and transmission cooler. But I've seen people haul bike on the front of their trucks and they tell me that works fine. I've seen people haul bike on the back of the trailer and they say that works fine. Those are the only two options I have to work with.
I'm just asking for help in this attempt. I can't afford a toy hauler, or the pickup to pull it. I don't want to spend 5000 for an Idaho tote to haul a $1000 motorcycle. I appreciate your help.

Very do able and many like your friend have done it.
I think the key is to get recommendations from your dealer as to what welding shops they deal with for doing this type of mod. You are looking for a welding shop who is proficient in this type of fabrication on the 5th wheel you have, and have a reputation for the work to be preformed. These are the people who's opinions are on the line and reputation at stake. I would not trust anyone who has little of no actual experience in this mod. This is critical.
Next, I might want to go with a lighter bike, there are many out there under the 300 lbs weight class, that can perform most of what a rider wants.
A rear view camera is something I would consider a must, for the obvious reasons.
Good luck and I hope you can find a solution you can go with.

The desire to carry a bike is never far from the back of my head.
Way back I questioned some builders at the Hershey RV show. Best answer came from, at the time, Carriage. They would warrantee 300# on the backs of their frames. No more.
With that kind of weight in mind you will be very limited on what can be carried & come close to that gross weight bike & carrier. Best I have found is a Yamaha TW200, a street legal dualsport style bike. Scooters about the same cc are about 250# dry weight too.

I built a hitch for my 5er and have carried a dirt bike an old 490 yamaha on my pull trailer. and I have to agree that I would keep it close to the 300 lbs. mark unless it has a swivel wheel trailer attached to the rear. Not an engineer but have built many things and vehicles and buggies that have held up to the terrain.
