A bit of departure of my typical on the road with my continuing adventures, postings. This is when I was recently visiting Mt. St. Helens National Monument.

Hopefully this post will encourage more to take the trek up and visit the David Johnson Visitor center and Monument. This area was so fascinating I spent 5 days boondocking, just outside of the monument, hiking and motorcycling around the area.

On the road with my continuing adventures. When I woke up this morning I found this Kodiak Truck, and Lance Camper, parked right next to me.

We pulled into what we thought was a really dark deserted corner of a lot to stealth camp, but when we woke up discovered it wasn't really a dark area, it was just that all the solar panels next to us were soaking up so much light that they had created a black hole. There went the neighborhood!

Thinking about running a coax to steal an HD DTV signal from next door. Haven't watched TV in.....awhile.

A couple of days ago it was a better view, in the Dixie National Forest between Grand Staircase - Escalante and Kodachrome SP in southern Utah.

Glad to see it's not too hard to post to tinypic and link via my phone.....first photo post for me this way....

Here's one from a few more days back, at Natural Bridges National Monument. It was a bummer to have to camp in the same campground as one other camper.... [emoticon] It felt really crowded...

Seriously, it has been amazing traveling through southern Utah, in what has to be one of the most concentrated areas of NPs, NMs, and SPs in the country, and having it mostly to ourselves. Yes the weather in Mid-December makes things a little more of a challenge but the rewards are great. Some of the campgrounds have even been free....

Too funny! Ya'll play nice out there! And glad to hear you've figured out an easy way to post pictures, btg. Those of us still chained to our desk have to live vicariously so keep 'em coming [emoticon]

And, anutami, your side yard ain't too shabby either!

On the BRPW 9/5/2011, our 25th anniversary meal, I wouldn't have traded for the finest restaurant on earth.
