rice classic Welcome the forum and the Former Rental Club.
you will be #80 ![[image]](http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smileys-and-emoticons/thumbs/smileys-thumbs-217948.gif)
It sounds like you have done your homework and know what you want and it will fit your needs,it is good to hear that they fixed any problems before delivery.
The alignment and shocks are a great Idea,I put a set of Bilsteins on mine and it made a huge difference. Another thing if you had not planed to do is to change the coolant and the brake fluid. It nice to start off with new fluids if you plan to tow.
Good Luck and have fun with your new toy and please come back and tell us how everything went.

Thanks Ichabod. All fluids will be replaced since they couldn't produce actual maintenance records only a carfax and a list of what happens in the refurb facility.
For those of you with these CA vehicles I have a question. The LED bulbs inside are that AWFUL blue light. Has anyone replaced the LED bulbs inside and what type are they and what's a good place to source them?
I want ones with a warmer color.

Hello, All:
In about 12 days I will be driving out to the Cruise America in Orlando, FL. to pick up a Majestic Four Winds 28A. Naturally I started to look for financing options and found some pretty great rates from many lending institutions but I have run into a Snag. I am learning, very quickly, that many RV finance Companies will either Not finance or Finance at a higher rate if the Rig, that your are trying to buy, has more than 100K miles on it. Sure most units from former rental companies are not older than 5 years but they do have over 60K miles on them (60K is the max on Gasoline engines that your unit can have for most finance institutions to even consider the loan). The unit I am interested in 110,000 miles on it.
I would love to hear from anyone who has had to finance in order to buy a former rental unit. Who did you go with or what was your experience? My goal is to obtain a 120 month or 10 year loan with a competitive rate. Good Sam and Essex Credit (which I think are the same company) both do not finance RV's that are over 60,000 miles on a gasoline engine.
As always, its great to hear from you all.
Trying to stay positive (thought of purchasing new already rolled through my mind once). Thanks.

Steve,
If you own a home then look into a Home Equity Loan (2nd mortgage). You'll get to deduct the interest on your taxes, you're buying the RV with cash, and you get the title for the RV sent to you - cuz the loan is against the home and not the RV.

I and many other forum members have had good luck with the warm white bulbs from this vendor on ebay. You do have to wait maybe 3 weeks or so for the slow boat from China. Just enter your bulb base type in the search box. 1156, 921, etc.

Thanks, gotsmart:
I did consider doing a Home Equity Loan but the problem is that there is very little equity for my home. After 2008 (when this economy went to He%@&) my home value went way down. I was upside down for awhile but now am finally leveling out as the home value is slowly starting to climb again.
I ended up contacting Cruise America and they had a list of loan companies that they have worked with in the past. So now am awaiting responses from some of them. So far CA has been very helpful in answering all of my questions and have been great to work with.
My unit is already reserved. Last I heard it is in it's final stages of refurbishing. I can't wait!!!

I was looking around at local credit unions but I wanted to one-stop-shop at CA. Sales guy is motivated to sell RV's so I let him do that work. First quote he got me was high and I said I wouldn't even drive up to look at the RV at that rate so he pinged two other institutions and got me a rate lower than my local credit union could so I went with that. I made sure there was no early-payoff penalty as I intend to pay off within 2 years.

Well thanks, but the congratulations should go to all the members on the Forum that have contributed to the Former Rental Thread. These are the ones that have kept the thread alive and useful.![[image]](http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smileys-and-emoticons/thumbs/smileys-thumbs-217948.gif)
With their posts on buying a Former Rental, their write ups on the process and how pleased they have been and their reasons for choosing to buy one. Also the Owners that come back and share their experiences.
Thus dispelling all the myths and misinformation not based on facts that it is a bad decision, which has been around for a while.
OK now Former Rental Owners lets Go Camping!! And spread the word
