The Mobil 1 synthetic is what I use . 5-20 along with one of theiir filters.

I Followed your advice and put in Mobil 1 High Mileage formula and a Motorcraft filter. I was able to buy oil in 5qt bottles for $22.47 at Walmart. All the auto part stores are well over $30 for a 5qt bottle.
The oil I drained out looked very used and dark. I think the people I bought it from went 9,000+ miles on the last oil change before I bought it. Only 4 qts drained out so it was low as well. I put 6.5qts in and am going to keep my eye on it.

Hi all,
Thanks to the info I learned from this thread, I had the confidence to put a deposit down on a 2012 Thor Four Winds 28A.
This is our first RV and I'm looking forward to the experience.
Thanks to all who contributed their experience.

Add me to the list, I just bought a 2007 Tioga on a Chevy chassis from El Monte in McKinney TX. They were a pleasure to deal with. Spent the weekend getting my toad set up, gonna take it for a short trip next weekend.

It is also good to hear from a fellow Workhorse Chevy owner,there is not a lot of us out there. If there are any questions about the Chevy Chassis that I can answer I will try to help.
It is good to hear that you bought from El Monte RV, I understand that they are nice folks there,I hope that your experience with them was a good one.

Mocoondo, thanks for the reply. I did end up putting Mobil 1 in it with a Motorcraft filter. Hopefully it works out. Maybe I can go back to Dyno the next change...

Hey guys,
I just emailed Travis, CA's National Part Manager down in Mesa, AZ. Really nice guy. I've gotten to know him quite well over the last 6 weeks since I purchased my rig. Extremely helpful.
He says they use a synthetic recycled oil called EcoPower in all their rental RV's. It's not too easy to get it yet. Closest place to me is 30 miles away at a Meineke Auto Care Center. It seems like Meineke is the main retail distributor right now. You can go on their website to check it out and see where it's available near you.

Travis is only partially right. That Ecopower oil is acceptable as an option where it is available. Unfortunately, is is available virtually nowhere, and also very expensive comparatively, ergo, everyone in the field is running bulk dino oil and that I can promise you. ![[emoticon]](http://www.coastresorts.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/smile.gif "smile")
