Well I have not had such good luck with the service men from Corizzo Springs yard. We called our service man every other day for lightbulbs and it still took 3 weeks to get them, we only get water when we finally tell them we are out(which I am about out again) and this is calling them when we still have about 200 gallons. We call when the diesel is down to 100 gal, and 80 gal, and 60 gal, and 40 gal, and 20 gal then we get some diesel but they never fill it up only about 3/4 tank. Our first service man got fired last week, and now the boss is "taking care" of us. He was here on Tuesday and gave us a little diesel and checked our water seen it was really low said he would be back in a couple of days with water and diesel, here it is Sunday and looks like I will have to call him again Monday.
I tip service people from resturants to mail man or meterreaders, but I feel they deserve it. I do not feel obligated to tip a service man when I have to be constantly calling day after day to get serviced. I know we are way out of the way for them and the dirt road back to us is not very good, but they are the ones that put us out here......take care of us.
The company Swift is very good to us and I enjoy working for them, but we have not had any body at our site for 3 weeks. They were moved to drill another well closer to Laredo and should be back shortly after Christmas.

Well with no rig in the back for 3 weeks now, I knew there should not be anyone walking around on our property. I was sitting at my chair yesterday looked up and there was 2 men about 50 yards down the lane. I stepped out to see what they wanted and they took off through the shrubs and cacttii. Well I called the Border Patrol and they brought dogs and walked the ranch. The dogs picked up the sent immediately and followed to where they climbed over the fence and went north toward Cotulla. Made a couple new friends with the border patrol and his dog.

The Texan wrote: There are 2 types of setup and service, one like coolbikerman noted, where the oil company is responsible for everything and one like ours where the company takes care of everything. We have had both types, but mostly GGS provided service. Jimmy Lawrence, our service guy this year, comes by every 7-10 days and fills our tanks, services the generator every 14 days and brings our mail, when we have any. Last year, we had George Luna, in the Kenedy area and both he and Jimmy did an outstanding job of making sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Thanks for the clarification. We plan on giving homemade goodies, but no monetary gifts. We really just have enough money to spend on our children and grandchildren.
We are with Murphy Oil. They take good care of us providing diesel for lights, the generator, and water for the 550 gal. tank. We also have gotten some food when they cater in and have extra left over.

Loma is fairly new to the gate guard biz- they are out of Richardson TX.
We are on a Chesapeke gate with Loma, and have been very happy so far.

I talked to them last week when we were between gates. I was very impressed with their attitude. Small company that has been in the oilfield business for years and this is a new division for them. They are starting slow and doing things right --like 15kw generators. Pay is $150 and they have 25 guards down south IIRC. Chesapeake is their biggest client.
However, LOMA has a strict drug, alcohol, firearms policy that they strictly enforce. Not talking about the rules of the lease operator here but LOMA itself.

While some of the gates are up in DFW, I believe most of the new gates are down in Cortulla/Tilden/3 Rivers area, which is about we are (north of Fowlerton).
Can't speak for everybody, but our service trailer was supplied by a subcontractor, everything brand new. Loma brings out the diesel, another sub the water, and the service trailer guy services the gennie and does the pump-out. No issues so at far all with the equipment.
They pay us as independent contractors, $150/day, once a month, by check.
I do not know whether or how much they pay extra for additional gates.
I'm not hard to please, but everybody we've encountered has been pleasant and responsive to us.

Are you saying that Loma will do random searches of the Gate Guard's RV? We don't have anything illegal, but the idea of someone coming and searching my entire RV bothers me!
Are Loma and SiteWatch the same company?? I love working for GGS, but it is always interesting to learn about the other gate guard companies out there.
Are there other new companies out there?
I got my hair cut in Three Rivers last week and the hair stylist told me that her mother owns a gate guard service with several gates in the Tilden area. Small world!!
