Also if it is a bigger cat sometimes it is just hard for them to hit the box... Might need a bigger litter box...

The Wee Cleaner arrived this morning, and I immediately saturated the area where someone peed. It's working as advertised, as the pee smell has intensified. The guys are both inside at the moment, and Alex keeps going to the laundry room door and looking confused. Spot's asleep in the cat tree tunnel, and completely unaware.

Thank goodness Bobbi likes the Litter Robot...

We're shoveling the clumps out of the regular litter box and dumping them into the Robot, so the smell will begin to transfer to the Robot. Right after doing that last night, I picked up Spot and showed him the clumps in the Robot. For the first time, he was curious instead of afraid.

Between that, the Wee Cleaner, and the Cat Attract, we might be able to convert everyone to the Robot.

Meanwhile, I'll keep several gallons of Wee Cleaner on hand.

Ah, the joys of living with cats...

Boy, that Wee Cleaner stuff really works. 24 hours later, no smell, no cats showing any interest in peeing there again.

Gave Spot another close look at the Litter Robot yesterday, making no attempt to push his head inside, holding him while he looked at it. I think he thinks it's a cat carrier and he'll have to go away. Later, he was sniffing it on his own; that's good.

He went for his leukemia booster and chip on Tuesday, and was seriously not happy. Called everyone names for a good while, but never once actually struck out. Whew - as large as he is, fighting us would have been ugly. He's also lost 1.2 pounds, down to 12. Being able to exercise with Bobbi helped there.

We'll take things slowly with the Litter Robot, both with Spot and with Alex. Meanwhile, it's cat nap time around the Wanderlost homestead -- they're all zonked.

A guy called this afternoon. He'd just discovered the local lost and found web site and thought Spot looked like his cat. After talking with him a while, then calling to Spot by the name the fellow had given (no response at all), he asked if he could come see Spot in about 30 minutes. But he never showed up.

Considering how he reacted negatively when I told him we'd had Spot neutered, even if Spot was his cat that disappeared on Thanksgiving Day, he would not have claimed him. I'm thinking after we hung up, he decided not to bother with a now neutered cat.

Some guys are like that...

Meanwhile, I contacted the local lost and found to remove the listing. Spot's staying here.

It was a gorgeous day, so we left the door open for the cats to run in and out. I spent most of the day on the north porch, reading. Alex stayed with me, snoozing on the outdoor love seat. Bobbi dashed about, the kitten she is.

Spot would sit by me for a while, then snooze in a chair, then go back inside, then back out to see if the rest of us were still there. He really does not like to be alone.

Like Alex, Spot can tell time. Now we have two cats telling us it's dinner time. Thankfully, Bobbi doesn't notice yet.

The big excitement was two days ago. Two beautiful female boxers suddenly appeared on the north porch. Just as I noticed one, the other fell into the swimming pool. Luckily, the pool cover held her up, and WLToo was able to get her over to the edge, where she climbed out and happily soaked him.

Both dogs were exceptionally friendly and really, really wanted to go inside. I suspected they were someone's couch buddies, but it took a while before they were calm enough to let me read their rabies tags. We called that vet, and about two hours later, a very embarrassed lady arrived to take the girls home. Seems they have four boxers, and while the boys are happy to lounge around at home, the girls keep digging out and going walkabout. Unattended dogs are a $500 fine around here (each), so we were happy to babysit until she could retrieve them.

The whole time they rested on our porch, or wandered about, Alex followed them from window to window, calling them every name in the kitty curse inventory. Periodically, Spot would chime in, but it was more of a "What he said!" sort of noise. It was pretty funny, watching these two side by side in one window/door or the other, letting those nasty goggies know that this was kitteh territory.

When they finally went home, we came inside to wash off the doggie funk (yeah, they were all licky and slobbery friendly--ever had a boxer try to climb into your lap? Oof!), while Alex and Spot made an exterior patrol to be certain that goggie smell wasn't permanent. Meanwhile, don't know where Bobbi had been, but she came wandering up like nothing had happened.

Pretty exciting around here...

Wow, so he's protecting the territory with Alex? That's a good sign as far as the two of them, I think.
