Congratulations on the new TT! Did you go with the dinette option or the table and chairs?
I daresay that the preference for the fermented corn was all about the buzz too.

Definitely the table and chairs, magnusfide. We just do not like dinettes.
F-150 is getting fixed. The rental car creeps me out. It's too low to the ground, making it difficult to climb out. The seats are not comfortable and I have a slight case of claustrophobia. Never gonna buy that model.
Got a phishing scam phone call. Didn't realize it, being somewhat distracted by two cats vying for space on me, and just picked up the phone when it rang. As soon as he started talking, I knew it was play time.
“Hello, I am Charles (totally garbled pronunciation, but I think he said Charles) from Microsoft. Your PC has a bug.”
“Oh? Which PC would that be?”
“Um, yes, the one you are using today.”
“Really? It seems to be doing just hunky dory fine.”
“Please? I need to access your PC to make the repairs.”
“I need to know what the weather is in India or Pakistan today.”
“Um, okay, I need your access authorization (badly pronounced) now.”
“I need categorical proof that you’re a Microsoft employee, and then I need proof that this is not just a little scam on the side.”
“Please?”
“No, I don’t please. Where’s the proof of employment?”
“I am from Microsoft.”
“Maybe you are, maybe you’re not. You saying so doesn’t make it true.”
“I cannot fix your PC without the access.”
“Then you don’t fix it, do you?”
“Um, please?”
“No please, no thank you. We’re done here.”

He got off light. On my oh so rare bad days, I'm inclined to go for the jugular.
Spotacus is sliding off the top of the chair onto my head; guess that's his signal that it's bedtime. Later, y'all.

I got one of those the other day. It just happens that I just sent in my computer to HP for repair and I had the battery here at home. I said how could I be on my computer when its in the mail on its way to HP and I have the battery. He said I was a liar and hung up on me. I sure hope people don't fall for that.

Well, this morning has certainly been exciting. Woke up early with clogged sinuses; used the neti pot and cleared them, then just stayed up. Fed Alex and Spotacus at the usual time, let Spotacus out, let Spotacus in, fed myself. WLToo got up just before eight. Normal so far.
The heat pump repair guy arrived to fix what we thought was a fan problem. Had to chase Spotacus out of his van; he'd left the passenger door open and that big cave looking place just had to be explored. Then the repairman announces the damage: the heat exchanger in the attic has to be completely replaced, two months out of warranty (naturally).
So I'm writing a check and see Short Friend's Toyota easing past the repairman's van. Ten seconds later a huge bang rattles the windows on the south side. WLToo goes dashing out the door, thinking Short Friend has had a heart attack or stroke or something and lost control. No, she's not even in the SUV. She'd left it running and in drive. How it stayed in one place long enough for her to get back inside their fifth wheel, before it started rolling, is a mystery, as is how it managed to glide past the repairman's van and not hit it before turning into the stone pillar at the end of the south porch. Good thing it hit the pillar, if it had gone just a couple inches to the right, the SUV would have driven off the upper level, down the slope, and straight into our 19th century grain wagon, or maybe the windmill - much more damage all around.
So now her car needs repairs to the left front side fender and whatever's underneath. We need an all new stone porch pillar and downspout. The repairman was quite shaken up. After we confirmed she wasn't in some medical emergency, all we could do was laugh. There is NEVER a dull moment around here.
Think I'll take some nice herbal tea to Short Friend. She'll need its calming assistance.
Later, y'all.

Wow, this isn't your year for mailboxes or stone pillars!
I'm with you on the table and chairs. Don't like dinettes either.

Oh, good grief, I would hate to be the driver who had to explain this accident to the insurance adjuster! So glad nobody (human or feline) was injured, and now I want to see a photo of that 19th century grain wagon.

On Friday, 22 Jan, we headed to Seguin to pick up the Rockwood. Went through it front to back, top to bottom. Only one minor issue, quickly fixed. Then we hooked up. WLToo wanted to do the driving, and I thought he knew how to set up the F-150 for towing. Guess not... Moved forward about a foot, then the trailer brakes locked up completely. After a whole lot of diagnosing, the service techs figured it was something in the F-150's trailer brake controller. So we left the Rockwood there and went home.
On Tuesday, I took the F-150 in for a regular service. Told them about the issue, and they knew about that problem. Tried to re-code, it didn't, went in and found the module had melted. Wow. So they installed a new one. However, the USB and 12 volt power outlet don't work now - probably forgot to plug them back in.
Anyway, we headed down to get the Rockwood today. Everything worked fine, except the running lights. The fuse was shot. Quick replacement. I give WLToo a long lesson on how to set up for towing (all kinds of things to click on in the instrument display). Then we finally headed out.
No sweat coming home. No sweat turning off that narrow road into our nice, wide, long driveway. WLToo had already moved L'Andante out of the way, so when he and Tall Friend finally figured out how to get the trailer backup camera to work, they backed it into place with a minimum of fuss. Had to stack wood blocks under the rear levelers, though -- WLToo will get/build appropriate leveling blocks over the next few days.
Tomorrow, we'll start moving things from L'Andante to the trailer, whose name we haven't decided upon yet, and learning how to run all the fancy doodads in it.
Spotacus wanted inside, but we didn't let him in there. Maybe tomorrow, while we're around to supervise. He's on a spraying kick on the garage doors, all the cars, etc., and I'm not sure he won't decide to spray inside the trailer. Have to keep a water bottle and the Wee Cleaner handy, just in case.
The doe herd was highly upset at L'Andante being out of place. Now we've added something else, moved L'Andante again, and shifted some stuff around. The inspectors were hard at work around sundown...
WLToo finally decided to let the local shop finish the interior work on L'Andante. Then we'll give her a thorough cleaning, inside and out, before consigning her at one of the RV sales lots here. He's also decided to sell his Jeep Liberty at an RV consignment lot, since it's already got the tow gear installed. That wouldn't add any value at any other type of sales lot, but would be very important to an RVer looking for a toad.
Alex is talking to his water glass again. Still, he's doing really well for a 19-year-old cat, so if he wants to talk to his water glass, announce that he's been in the litter box, and play patty cake with the water fountain, that's ok.
Think I'll wander back outside. It's too nice to be inside. Later, y'all.

Drove to the Ford dealer this morning to check out why the various plug-ins were not working. As we drove, WLToo tested each port/outlet, and nothing was working. At one point, we heard a beeping coming from the back seat. The only thing back there that could beep is the inverter. The beeping stopped, and then suddenly everything was working. We told the service folks about it. They checked for code issues and made sure everything was completely plugged in. Couldn't find a thing wrong.
I believe it was the old routine where something doesn't work until you take it for repair, and then it works fine. Automobiles do that...
Found one thing needing fixing in the Rockwood. Not near enough air coming out of the a/c vents. We'll be testing the furnace next, now that it's cooled back down. I plan to spend a whole day/evening "camping" in the Rockwood this week, so we can thoroughly test everything.
WLToo already switched the shower head and hose for an Oxygenics, and got the toilet paper holder and kitchen paper towel holder. He's going to build a four towel rack on the bathroom door, like the one in L'Andante.
I started moving things over to the Rockwood. Surprisingly, everything fits so far, and I've hardly put a dent in the Rockwood's storage space. The pantry is three times the size of L'Andante's two slide-out pantries, so I'm not concerned with food storage at all. Think I'll attach a couple of nets in the top shelf to hold chip bags and such, so they don't get crushed.
That "Biltmore" color scheme is dark, so I'm heading to El Mercado in San Antonio tomorrow for some serape striped fabrics. Gonna cover the throw pillows and make a bed cover out of them and get some color into the place. Don't know what it is about RV interior color schemes, but the trend is toward boring, boring, boring, dark, blah, boring. Sheesh. L'Andante's light sage, tan, off white with hints of blue and red interior colors are still just as refreshing today as when we bought her in 2004.
Alex and Spotacus met the new vet on Monday. Alex was happy to meet him; Spotacus was so surly that we just removed the top from his carrier and the vet examined him from there. Spotacus is still afraid that we'll leave him there, even though we've not done so for over almost two years. Dr. K. prescribed an antihistamine for Alex, to increase his appetite. We gave him one pill Monday night, and he threw up well into Tuesday morning. So that's another medication he can't take...
Short Friend needs some assistance. Later, y'all.
