I not only love learning about the deer but Spotacus and Alex! I have a 13 year old cat so I'm learning about dealing with her and the issues they have.

Oh yes, the cats! I go all the way back to their little Bobbi Sox, who magically disappeared into some other dimension years ago. Also, I have enjoyed hearing about bacon fudge and all kinds of yummy and unusual dishes.

I'm not certain I can explain how I can tell Han and his twin Spooky from all the other bucks, other than I've interacted with them from literally the day MDL had them in our yard and brought them over for us to meet within hours of their birth. They also know and do not fear us, unlike the other bucks, so when one of them jumps into the property, we all know each other.

Spotacus has decided he needs to sleep in my chair. As long as I can do stuff elsewhere, that's fine, but in the evening I'd like to have it back. He argues with me, then lays on the table between our chairs and pushes his back into the laptop. Occasionally, he reaches around it and plays with my fingers as I type. While he does that, Alex sleeps in my lap. WLToo gets ignored, poor guy. I'd love to share a cat with him, but noooo, they just have to sleep on me.

We just returned from Wurstfest. Because we both wore Trachten (classic southern German/Austrian/Alpine attire), folks wanted their pictures taken with us. That was fun. Because I'd gotten so buried in genealogy that I forgot to eat today, I spent most of the time eating my way around the fest, and still managed to come home not stuffed.

That will not be the case at the Texas Renaissance Festival...I try to sample a bit of everything over the course of a full day, then sleep like a rock that night. We're taking L'Andante and the cats, so it won't be a stressful trip. The campground is just outside the festival grounds, about a half mile walk, so we can come back and forth throughout the day.

Well, I'm all tuckered out. Partying can take it right out of me sometimes. Later, y'all.

Hummels? Nah, more like a pair of Hummers - oversized and clunky. We didn't take photos for ourselves. I hate having my picture taken.

You should visit the one at Todd Mission, Texas. It's huge and one really needs more than a day to cover the whole thing. That's why we take L'Andante to their campground, instead of driving to/from for hours.

Weather has cooled off a bit. I had to put on a thicker tee shirt this morning...not cool enough for a long-sleeved tee shirt yet, and definitely not cool enough to need socks with my flip flops.

We haven't seen Leoghaire or the other does in several days. I guess the bucks are causing them to go into hiding. Come to think of it, though, we haven't seen any bucks since Han dropped by. Well, there are a lot of excellent hidey holes around here.

Mr. Fox came by night before last, visiting the garden shed porch. WLToo decided not to shoot that night, just shone a light into fox eyes. I'm staying out of that dynamic, just observing, and making sure the cats stay safe.

Alex threw up his entire breakfast on the area rug, then ran over to the doormat and finished throwing up. No barfing for him on the easy to clean tile, nosir. [emoticon]

Guess I'd best feed him lunch a little early. Later, y'all.

WLToo told me that while I was working at the library, Leoghaire came up. He didn't see her at first, since he was watching a movie. She doesn't come up on the porch and look in like her mama did, but she snorted loudly. The door was open, otherwise he would not have heard her, now that all the replacement doors and windows are installed. She came alone - she's learned how to get all the food for herself.

Spotacus and Alex spent the day running in and out - it was gloriously beautiful, after a gray and dreary day yesterday. Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning we got a half inch of rain.

Got the firewood stacked, and put the battery charger on L'Andante. The house battery switch solenoid has either failed or become disconnected, and until WLToo can find and replace it, the batteries will keep discharging. He can hear the clicking, but just hasn't located the solenoid yet. That puts our TX Renaissance Fest trip in the toilet for this year. Ah, well, there's always next year. Guess we'll just clean house, in preparation for the Thanksgiving feast.

But for now, 'tis bedtime. Later, y'all.
