Another beautiful day in the Hill Country. Spot is going in and out, on patrol, then back for a nap on our bed. Alex is trying to sleep on me, but he's too hot for me, so now he's playing with a ribbon tied to a dining table chair.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I haven't sat out and watched for the deer. It's quite windy, so we haven't seen any birds, either.

Yesterday, we put new highway pegs on my motorcycle, blew the water lines in L'Andante, and donated motorcycle stuff to our H.O.G. chapter's swap meet. Gives us a bit more room in the garage, so we can unpack another box or two. Who knows, another year or two and we just might have all the moving boxes unpacked and everything organized again.

Snort. Riiiiight....

We're all fine, azgundog. Been busy with company. Today's the first quiet day in a while, but it's just the calm before the storm...

Advantage Multi day, so the guys are sleeping it off. Also a rather cool day, so they both want warmth. Alex is in my lap, Spot's next to our visiting friend.

Haven't seen much of the deer herd; the does are still hiding from the bucks. Somewhat humorous to occasionally see a buck sniffing the ground as he walks along, then suddenly jump into the junipers and a doe bursts out the other side.

Spot did have a little adventure day before yesterday. WLToo was working on removing the big TV from the RV, and when he closed up, he thought he'd seen Spot out and about. I got home from volunteering at our library, and WLToo said Spot wasn't back yet. We sat in the hot tub, occasionally calling him, and being slightly concerned because I could smell skunk wafting by occasionally. Then as WLToo told me what he'd been doing, I asked if Spot could have slipped into the RV -- he does really like it.

WLToo didn't think so, but when we got out of the hot tub, he went out to the RV. Came back a few minutes later with Spot leading the way. He trilled at me and went directly to the Litter Robot. WLToo checked the next day, and Spot had not pottied in the RV during the hours he was in there.

So we know now to keep an eye out for Spot when doing stuff in the RV. The next RV trip, the boys are going with us.

Glad all is fine. Do so enjoy reading your families adventures :-)
Right smart does I would say.
Good for Spot and not making a mess in the RV and they will so enjoy going with you on your next rip instead of to the cat hoosegow.

Our outside cat loves to sneak in our r.v. when were are packing or unpacking. We know to check there, if we can't find her and we have been in or out of it..She also likes to check our portable building out when we visit them..On more than one occassion, we have missed her and after some time, check there and she would come running out....Our inside cats never go outside...

Last few days have been hectic, with our friend here and us helping him get stuff done before he heads overseas. Put him on the plane this morning, then went over to the smokehouse and got our pepper crusted smoked turkey for Thanksgiving.

Spot's still wandering in and out, looking for our friend -- Spot really likes him -- then doing his regular fence line patrol. Alex is piled up on me again.

We moved the bedroom furniture around, and now Spot's tree is next to the door, where he can look outside, so he chitters and trills at night. Doesn't bother me, but it took WLToo a few nights to get used to the new sounds.

We lack one sound: the guys finally replaced the screw open/close thingies on the hot tub that add air to increase the bubbles. No more hissing sounds when we're sitting on the porch.

Wow, time just flew today. Time to throw together some supper.

Later, y'all.

Yesterday was yet another fine feast. We delayed until nephew arrived from Fort Hood. He was delayed himself, as he got volunteered to be on the serving line for the dining facility Thanksgiving feast for all who weren't leaving post, then came home to his mom's for his meal.

We stuffed ourselves on smoked turkey, jalapeno-cilantro cornbread dressing, apple cider gravy, green beans almondine, roasted sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, pinot noir, death by chocolate, pecan pie, pumpkin pie.

Today, the turkey carcass and neck, various veggies and herbs are cooking away, making another batch of turkey stock. I'm not hungry, but it smells marvelous.

Alex is going bonkers, wanting the turkey soooo bad. Spot wanders past now and then, interested in the smells, but he won't eat the actual meat. For him, it's cat food or something he catches himself.

We got a close look at Mama Doe's 2011 fawn, and it's another buck, so she's thrown three bucks in two seasons. She came up and looked in the north door. I gave her three leftover celery stalks, then she strolled away.

Beautiful day here -- a number of boats on the lake for us to watch.

Hope Thanksgiving was a great day for you all, and those who chose to brave Black Friday -- be safe. It's dangerous out there. [emoticon]

The turkey stock is strained and put into the freezer. Alex got a couple bites of turkey, and he's asleep on the bed with WLToo, who's taking his morning nap...

Spot wanted out badly this morning, and was very surprised to see it was raining. We got an inch and a bit, which puts us only about five inches under normal. But it's not going to put much of a dent in the drought conditions.

Mama Doe was all upset this morning, right after the rain started clearing off. I guess the bucks are annoying her. But it made an interesting show for us.

Well, time to get back to moving furniture, so we can fit a tree into this very small house. Later, y'all.

Quiet day at Druiden Wiese. It's sunny and clear, but the wind's howling, so we're all relaxing inside today.

When I woke up, Spot was laying on the bottom of his tree. He's never done that before, so I watched him to see if he was sore or feeling bad. Nope. Just wanted to lay down there.

Both guys ran in and out several times, before deciding it's too windy -- blows into their ears and feels bad.

While waiting for Alex to decide to come back inside, Mama Doe and fawn strolled up. I told her I didn't have anything for her, and she started grazing by the porch. Sometimes I think she actually understands the tone in my voice and/or my body language.

Time to rustle up some lunch. Later, y'all.

Yum, yum, would you share a couple of your recipes with us? Jalapeno-cilantro cornbread dressing, and apple cider gravy to be precise! They sound really yummy and I have yet to find a cornbread dressing recipe I really like.
