Hehe.
I would not be surprised if there was someone on this forum who would tell you need something similar to tow a 5,000 pound (gross) trailer.

I've been drooling over these rigs for years. It's a 2008 Freightliner Sportchassis M2 106, Cummins ISC 8.3L, not sure which tranny (it's huge), brand new Michelins, 53k miles, super clean, nice storage bins, trailersaver air hitch, air everything, Jake brake.. lots more.
Did a lot of homework including the new Ram or GMC pickups (which are pretty nice), and an HDT. This one seemed to stand out as the right one for me. The air seats are so comfortable I drove 340 miles (at mostly 75mph bobtail) today and was hardly aware of it. I couldn't even imagine going that far (or fast) in the old 450. I don't know my mileage yet as I was not successful in fully filling 2ea 50 gallons tanks. So much to learn.
So far a couple things I don't like:
a) Wind noise. Seems to be coming from the upper door frames. I don't think any air is actually leaking, and the seals look fine.
b) A/C. Struggles to keep the cab cool enough on this 90+ degree day. I'm comfortable enough as long as I don't stop and let the cab heat up. Then it takes awhile to cool down, and it's running full bore all the time.
Can't wait to get home and lash up the 5er which just got new shackles. Dang this is getting to be an expensive hobby!
That's the exact rig my sister needs for her horse trailer/RV gooseneck. Got rid of the last Ford L8000 because the wheelbase was to long and still continues to burn up transmissions even on the F450. She needs more truck and this is still small enough to be maneuverable.
Nice Rig!

Nice rig!
If you haven't already, check out the Escapees forum, they have an MDT and an HDT section that I find really helpful.

One session with a clutch pedal was enough for me. No way. But Volvo has a full automatic now which should be pretty sweet.

Was coming home from Yellowstone a few days ago and saw a flatbed wrecker style bed loaded with a commuter car and the truck also pulling a larger bumper pull TT.
Quite the set-up.
I love me some land yachting

The wind noise is sometimes just the windshield design and sometimes it's a worn out door seal. There was a couple older Freightliner models that would have it at highway speeds and I have a Mini Cooper that sometimes has it. The door seals are easy to replace if you decide to give that a try.
You probably already know this but the A/C likely needs to be serviced. You can have a shop test it for leaks and recharge it or there are some DIY kits available.

I used to drive an M2 style like that...a 2007 with a Cat engine. The company I worked for had 8 of them. They were constantly known for needing a condenser. The condenser is down low and in front of all the other coolers. They would get pin holes from road debris and start to leak. Some slow over time, and others would stop working abruptly. Once the condenser was replaced, it was ice cold in the cab.
The doors on the older m2 trucks with 250-300k on them made the noise you speak of but the new ones were quiet, at least for the first 100k. Then after a while you could start to hear wind flutter noise as you hit bumps etc. Maybe opening and closing the door wears out the alignment over time?? These were flatbed tow trucks and they were opened and closed hundreds of times per day.
