I don't know if Cherokee will have much color but the cool clean air might help Old Fella's breathing. Also, will you be able to keep us posted while you are gone?

I will try to post while we are at Cherokee. I think they have an internet room there.

richard, I really hope you can get some rest tonight. We do not need getting sick also. A person always hears about the prayer chains and how it works. This here story is truth that it does. GodBless you and Sue and your family for all that you are doing for Old Fella.
Good Night, God Bless.

Dixie Flyer, I just want to say that I found this thread tonight and started on Page 1 and just now finished up reading the threads. What a story. I can sort of relate to the affection you have been bestowed by Old Fella. About 11 years ago we got a small dog (less than 6 months old) that had been toddling along the county road we live on. Figured someone had driven out into the country and tossed him out the window. He has been the best buddy to all, knows no stranger and was a good friend to our horses until he started to get arthritis too bad to keep up with them in the pasture. Beau started out to be a barn dog but after a few years has migrated into the house where he has been ever since. He is now about 50# and fat and sassy like the rest of us. HAHA God Bless you and your family for what you have done. I will keep up with the posts from now on. Take Care

SOOOOOOO much improved! We all had a good nights rest and Old Fella is doing so much better. I gave him his shot and he ate his breakfast. He is very alert and moving around. His breathing is almost normal. He starts to pant when he moves around a lot, but he went outside with no problem and was waiting at the door to come in with that hungry look and went straight to his bowl of food.
I believe the worst is over, at least I hope so. We will be leaving around lunch time if all goes well with Old Fella between now and then. I was so touched with the post about the church people putting flowers at the St Francis statue and the lights being there for Old Fella. It is evident that people care when they are aware of a need. I am so grateful for all the prayers that have been spoken for us, you will never know how deeply I have been touched by the thoughtfulnes of all the people. I wish I could hug everyone of you right now at this moment. You are on my mind and in my heart.

So happy to hear that Old Fella has made it through the crisis. He has a lot of fight in him. Been through so much.
I bet he will be your SHADOW with a ever watchful eye while you and the family are in the campground. He trusts you completely.
How is he on the leash and walks?
All of us will be watching for updates.
