So glad to hear things are improving. Enjoy your first camping trip with Old Fella. I hope this is the first of many trips for him. Be careful and have a great weekend. I know we will all be waiting anxiously for your updates. We will be camping this weekend also so will check in Sunday when we get home. God Bless you for all you have done for Old Fella.

So happy to hear that Old Fella has made it through the crisis. He has a lot of fight in him. Been through so much.
I bet he will be your SHADOW with a ever watchful eye while you and the family are in the campground. He trusts you completely.
How is he on the leash and walks?
All of us will be watching for updates.

Yes he is on the leash and walks as though he has been on a leash all of his life. I wish I could find out more about his life before the camground. Somewhere he has had obedience training and is remembering it now. It is as if he has been with us all of his life in a lot of things he does. He is smart and catches on fast. He has larned how to open the gate in the back yard by flipping the latch on the gate and he has learned how to open the front screen door by pushing the handle {this is "L" shape} when he sees me coming so he can greet me at the door.

I will be sure and call Lynn so she can update everyone while we are gone.

Being the worrier that I am, keep a close hold on him while camping. I am sure that he is ever so grateful for his new life, but make sure he doesn't think he gets to roam free again! I'll be glad when you make it home safe. Like I said, I'm the worrier!

I was so glad to hear he's doing better this morning. I get tears in my eyes every day reading this thread. It really is a nice change of pace to hear people doing good for others (furry and human). I can't wait to hear how the old boy does on his first camping trip. You are in our thoughts.

To chemisd: Don't Worry! especially about Old Fella. Dixie Flyer has control of the situation. After saving him, he is not going to let anythinghappen to him. Old Fella may be meant to travel. With Dixie Flyer traveling to Branson with him next year, he may grow to love Rving like the rest of our fur kids. I call it "Controlled Adventures".
