[b]vickiebec,
I am sorry you interpreted what I said as being rude. When you said it was going to be raining all week-end and being a sign, I interpreted that as being a "gloomy" sign.

Hey Walter,
Sorry you got your rear in a bit a crack for just a moment here. :E
For my money, you are one of the "least rude" members of the entire Forum, all threads! :)

I know I am hoping that in the Am it will be Old Fella is stabelized
my heart sinks everytime i sign in thinking he is worse than last night. We all just need to remember all the things that he has been thru and how and what all he as survived. As Walter said he is a FIGHTER, he might me a little down but he is not out. With all the thoughts and prayers out here for Old Fella and Richard and family, he will be around for a long time, who knows maybe this rally thing will be an annual deal for Old Fella. We can only hope, maybe change the states and Wagon master.
Love ya Old Fella, Prayer going out to you and family.

OK people! I'm at work and cannot keep sitting her with a running nose and tears running down my face. The only thing that would feel good is if I could really have a really good cry - bawling out loud type of thing. I'm gonna quit reading the posts and ask that someone please PM me when everything is OK again.

Trying not to sound negative I would like to say this. No matter what the outcome with Old Fella I believe in this rally. I have heard some say that this story has changed forever the way they will look at stray animals. One posted that they were planning on getting a dog next year and was planning one getting on from a breeder. After reading the Old Stray thread they have decide to adopt one to give it a second chance at life. If nothing else this thread has brought to mind of all the Old Fella's out there that need a helping hand. Let this rally champion that cause. I really believe with all my heart that Old Fella is going to pull through this and our bond will be the stronger because of it. He knew I was there and would not leave his side all through the night. That gave him the strength to pull through. Love is stronger than any force this earth has ever known. There is enough love here on this forum to get us all through this or whatever comes our way.
Just a little while ago Levi came through and I called him back to give him a pat on the head and Old Fella got up out of his bed and came to me to get his also. His breathing is so much better and he felt like eating again. I just have to believe with all my heart that Old Fella was supposed to with us his family and he wasn't saved to leave us now before his new life really began. He has so much to live for and he knows it.

Vickiebec must be very new to this board. I agree with Barbara (Whimstock), that you are anything but rude. You have been one of the kindest poster's on any thread.. Infact, there has been nothing but compassion and love here from everyone, and lots of prayers for Old Fella and Richard...Barb

Richard....the most important thing for Old Fella now is complete and total bed rest. He should move as little as possible. The heartworms are stressing his heart and lungs right now and until they pass he should not have any kind of excitement or exercise of any kind.
Therefore, I would suggest that you stay home and not go camping. He will rest easier knowing that you are around. Sadly, our pets cannot understand the reasoning for things and if he were to suddenly have to spend several days at the vets again, he might feel he was being abandoned again. That kind of stress cannot be good for him.
Heidi had no signs of trouble during her treatment and had her rest for over 6 weeks. Then within two days she has had two short episodes of labored breathing and acting as if she were going to gag. Only lasted for a minute or two, but scary just the same. Due to Old Fella's age, he will have to work a bit harder to get rid of the worms....... they do not go away quickly....but with all the care he is getting, Old Fella has a terrific chance of recovering completely. He will need a lot of rest and love. One thing for sure....this dog has plenty of love!!!!
