Oh Rich,

I have been away for a few days and I am sitting here typing with tears in my eyes. I can't believe how much this old dog has touched the hearts of so many lives. You both are so special to all of us here! Ya'll are in my prayers too and as others have said, I can't imagine you would be happy without Old Fella on the campout, but I'm so glad that if something like this was going to happen it happened before you left so you still had Dr. Gradious close by! Hang in there and give Old Fella, Izzie and Levi hugs and pats from me too!

My boss just walked by and asked me if I was ok. I was reading this thread and crying so hard. I've also followed this one from the beginning and you and Old Fella definitely have my prayers. He is a fighter, he has been through so much, but I bet he never even imagined that he would have a bunch of people sitting behind a computer typing, crying and sending up prayers for him. Keep us posted, and just remember that you can always take that vacation some other time.

A Dog's Prayer

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow your through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god, and I am your devoted worshipper.

Feed me clean food and water, that I may be well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing , and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do no turn me away from you. Rather, hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest..... and I will leave you, knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

Your devoted friend......

Well it is almost four in the afternoon and Old Fella decided to get up, go outside and then come back in and ate some lunch. He is breathing much easier and had a good look about him. He is wagging his tail and says "Don't give up on me!" If he continues to improve by morning I think an outting might just do us all good. We will wait and see.

...Its suppose to rain here in NC all weekend, maybe its a sign.
[b]I don't think that was the sign. I think the sign was that he made it through the night. A dog that had given up would not have made it. Old Fella's a fighter, and he knows the bell hasn't rung yet. He might be down, but he's not out. Remember, he is a DOTL!
For your info I was talking about going to NC in the rain. Don't be so rude

You two hang in there. The prayers will follow you whether you are at home or camping.
