[b]Richard,
The mountains will not be going anywhere. I am glad Old Fella is home with his family. :)

awwww, when you think how we worried about that kitty accepting him and vice versa.......animals are so sensitive.
Rich, I think you will worry yourself sick if you are separated from Old Fella at this critical period. Bless your heart and his, too. If prayers can help, they surely will.

Hi Rich,
Our prayers are still going up for Old Fella and for you. It is not my place to tell you what you should do, but from everything you have said, I do not believe you would be happy away from Old Fella right now. You would be so worried and upset the entire trip, I have no doubt. Old Fella needs all the support he can get right now and I think you need to stay near, for him and for yourself. You both have all of our support and prayers. I think Izzie must be a smart and loving cat!! God be with all of you right now, is my prayer. Please try to get some rest yourself, sounds like you need it.
God bless,
Yank

I agree. I know this is your decision but at this point it does not seem he should travel and the alternative is to board him. It's up to you of course. sorry. $.02

Glad to hear he is home... I hope y'all can take a nice nap this afternoon, it sounds like both of you could use it.
Now for my two cents worth. You might want to hold off on a trip to any mountains until he is feeling better. High altitude and breathing/heart problems just don't mix.
Take care!!

We are praying also. We have followed this thread from the beginning. There's nothing we can say that hasn't already been said, but I wanted you to know that there are a lot of us out there that don't post but are praying fervently for Old Fella's speedy recovery. We are praying for you as well, Dixieflyer. You are very special person.
You and Old Fella have probably done more for Pet Rescue than you will ever know. We have plans to adopt a dog next summer. We had thought of buying from a breeder, but after your story we know we want to give a dog a second chance.
God bless you.

This will be a long day. I am praying for Old Fella and for you Richard. My husband has never read this board, but this morning the first thing he said is "did you find out how that old dog is doing?" I feel so bad that you have to deal with the stress of Old Fella's health, and your planned vacation. He is so lucky to have you to love and care for him...Barb
...Its suppose to rain here in NC all weekend, maybe its a sign.
[b]I don't think that was the sign. I think the sign was that he made it through the night. A dog that had given up would not have made it. Old Fella's a fighter, and he knows the bell hasn't rung yet. He might be down, but he's not out. Remember, he is a DOTL!
