Dixie Flyer ... I'm not sure I'd appreciate a group of strange people showing up at what I knew as home and disrupting things! But once I realized there were some benefits to the events, I'd start coming around. I might be grumpy for a bit, but deep down I'd be appreciating the regular meals, the soothing hands, the relief from the pain I'd been feeling, and the comfort of a warm home, even if it is at the vets for a few days.

Hopefully, all turns out well for him health-wise and he can settle into a new routine in a new home, with a new loving pack!

Good news! Whether he know it or not he is in a much better place now. [emoticon]

Love, patience, kindness, and food on a regular basis will do wonders for a dog that doesn't trust.... I've had success with such a dog in the past. I have a feeling if anyone can gain his trust, it is you Dixie because it is OBVIOUS you care deeply about his well being.

THANK YOU so much for caring enough to work hard at doing what is right. Most of the time things that are worthwhile in life take some effort. I will be hoping for a happy ending.

Ditto on the good news! I have a big ol' lump in my throat and tears in my eyes reading your update, as others do I'm sure. He is lucky to have found someone who cares as much as you do, for however long!

Hopefully you'll be posting soon that you've lost your seat on the sofa and your side of the bed - LOL!

Congrats on a job well done!

I hope and pray everything works out for you and the dog. I've been thinking about you all day and what your going through. It really must be tough right now for all of you.

I have been watching this post to find out if you got Old Fellow. Hope all is well at the vets. Quincy and especially Chloe are sending doggie kisses to aid in his healing.

Dixie Flyer, You did the RIGHT thing. Just thinking of him trying to find a warm place to lay his head this winter, you have to know you did the right thing. He's just been on his own for so long, he didn't want to trust anyone. Good luck to the Old Fellow, Phoenix.

What kind of dog is Old Fellow? I haven't read all the post, just some. I'm just curious how someone could leave him. Old Fellow is always in my thoughts.
