And so begins a new life . . . . . [emoticon] When he's ready, the DOTL want him! We can use a few good dogs, wise in the ways of the world and all the danger out there. What's his name . . . Phoenix?

Phoenix might be a good name for him.

Was it very hard to get Old Fellow in the car. We want details. I'm so happy you found him. I hope the Vet has good news for you. The poor thing I hope he's not in to bad of health.

I put him in a borrowed dog box for the trip home after he was sedated. If he trusted anyone he sure doesn't now. He was still sedated when he arrived at the vets office so nothing could be done right away. Tomorrow the test will start to find out what needs to be done. I am afraid he might have heart worms from being outside all the time. We tried to trap him in a live trap, but he was too smart for that but we finally got him in the box. I felt so sorry for him I didn't know what to do. I truly hope I have done the right thing.
....I truly hope I have done the right thing.
[b]As long as you follow through on taking good care of him and not abandoning him . . . then I think you have done the right thing. I feel in my heart you will follow through on your promise to him. :)

My heart is with you and your rescue! I understand your "hopes," too, about doing the right thing. But, really, what else could you do, once you saw him the first time????

You may be pleasantly surprised at how he responds after he calms down--I hope so.

Be sure to keep us posted.

Barbara
