Look at his eyes, fear and doubt have been replaced with trust and love. Isn't this amazing? He may have gained a little weight, too!

I am so happy to see more pictures of Old Fellow! He is looking good!!

Dogs are so loving, trusting, resilient and brave... so unlike humans who will carry the weight of their past and even "share" it with anyone who comes across them, many times their disappointing life will cause them to strike out at anyone/anything that comes along. It is sad to be on the receiving end of such fouled up "humanity" and honestly it is hard for us to move past, isn't it? A dog on the other hand will bounce back with head held high, eyes filled with trusting love and a happy, wagging tail. It is no wonder I adore our pets as much as I do... they can forgive that kind of treatment when real love comes their way. Awesome!

When I look at the type of life dogs like Old Fellow and our Pistol Pete have endured I have to question how in the world they can bounce back like that but at the same time I am so thankful they do! Many people could learn SO much from our canine counterparts......

Good boy Old Fellow, well done boy, well done! May the rest of your life be full of love, comfort and compassion. This is the kind of hope I see in your soulful eyes....and I pray it is realized to the fullest!

I'm tired and ready for bed. I have had an exciting day today and the waiting until Monday will make the weekend longer. I just want to reflect some now on the past few weeks and thank everyone who encouraged me to go back to that campground and get that old stray dog we have come to know affectionately as Old Fellow. It was a miracle that I was able to finally get him to the vet and then another miracle that was provided by the generous people of this forum that made it possible for Old Fellow to get the treatment he so desperately needed. I think a great big cheer needs to go out to all of you for caring and then stepping up to the plate with your gifts and support.

Old Fellow now belongs to all of us and in some way by giving to him and meeting his needs you have helped others as well. We have seen the heart of this forum shed tears and joy over the plight of this animal and give their support and prayers to one who had no hope, nor joy, nor purpose in life. Now there is purpose, now there is joy and now there is meaning to all that has happened to this old stray. He has found his place in the hearts of many and enlightened us to the suffering of homeless animals who deep down inside are looking for a tender spot in each of us to help where we can. You have poured out your heart and for this Old Fellow and I are eternally grateful. Such love will always be rewarded. Good night and may God bless each and everyone of you.

I am new to this RV.Net and I only got on here to look for help finding a skylight for our shower (ours was damaged in a hail storm last night). How I got into this story I am not sure but I am so glad I did!!! It is a beautiful story and I am so glad Rich went back all the times it took to catch Old Fellow. I am also impressed with the way everyone chipped in and helped take care of the medical bills, so very generously. What a bunch of nice people you all seem to be. I am looking forward to more information about Old Fellow and how he likes his new home. (And how Izzie likes Old Fellow) God bless each one of you for caring and God bless you, Rich, for going the extra mile. You have got to be one of God's special helpers.

I see pain in the eyes in that first photo, too. Bless his little heart.
