Best Friends

Our favorite charity

YES! We had the distinct pleasure of actually visiting Best Friends in Kanab, UT on our recent trip out west. They have an incredible facility. After visiting, we decided to forgo a day at Zion and volunteered there for the day feeding and giving attention to old dogs. If you are ever remotely close to Kanab, I urge you to pay them a visit.

Didn't mean to highjack this thread. You are doing a wonderful thing for this animal and we all appreciate it.

I didn't mean to get people riled up but my friend works for PETA and although I have not had time to search their site thoroughly today and unfortunately my computer at work is not letting me get into the individual articles regarding Katrina, but there is information regarding their involvement with Katrina on their website.

Since this "rancher" has horses I thought perhaps it would be worth reporting possible neglect/abuse to them since there are no local agencies that can get involved.

It was only a suggestion and not one to raise a heated debate or get people so riled up over PETA and it's pros and cons.

As for employees being indicted for animal abuse, well that happens everywhere, not just with PETA. We have the same thing going on here at Wolf Haven, which is a "legit" rescue for wolves here in Washington and these were not just two employees, it was people higher up the ladder. So, please, let's not get in a an argument over how bad PETA is.

PETA is not a rescue, nor is it's focus on companion animals, that is true, but my question is, have you actually talked to these other organizations about PETA's involvement or lack of involvement? Do you know for a fact that they have done nothing to help out in this crisis?

Old Fellow is doing well and treatments continue. Some of you have shown interest in contributing towards the vet's bill by credit card so here is the information. But please don't call before Tuesday afternoon as Dr. Gradous has not offically admitted him into their billing records saving me money on the total bill. As of Monday he will be an offical patient at the clinic and at the Kennel.

Dr. Gradous' clinic is as follows;

Springwood Veterinary Clinic
3145 Old Waynesboro Road
Hephzibah, Georgia 30815
Phone: 706 592-0301

Old Fellow is being boarded at

Springwood Kennel & Grooming
3209 Old Waynesboro Road
Hephzibah, Georgia 30815

Phone: 706 592-0444

Old Fellow has a nice air conditioned room all to himself {he has his own pen}with plenty of food and water. Thank you so much for all the encouragement and support. I appreciate each and everyone of you and so does Old fellow.

As of yesterday Old Fellow has received two gifts totaling $75.00, one gift of $50.00 and one for $25.00. Through PM's I received the promise of more. I will post every day the gifts Old Fellow receives so those who are interested can see how things are going. I will send pictures to those who send gifts. Can someone tell me how to post a picture here on the forum, or I can send one to someone who knows how. Things are looking good for Old Fellow thanks to you things will look even better. I appreciate each and everyone of you.
