I was JK with the power thing but stating your vintage motor likes crank sensors.
No offense taken, LOL. My VINTAGE powerstroke has only 152K. Still has the orig cps and have a new oem black one in the glovebox. I know lots of guys that have replaced them but so far mine is holding up. I had to sign a waiver on the cps recall but had heard lots of horor stories about the replacement one so I refused it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

No, really there is not. You unbolt what you need to get to them and you bolt back on what you take off, it's that simple. I do all my own work and then some. As far as the electric connections go, they will only plug back the same way.
So really there is not yet really there is.
What does this simple task take, 20-30 minutes?
The last time I looked under the hood of a Dmax or PSD, there was plenty to remove just to get to the injectors.
Really? This is silly. That's like saying that someone would have to pay someone to mow their yard because the have 3 acres to mow instead of a half acre. If you can remove 1 part you can remove a thousand bolts. The D-max that I did was the first one I have ever done and it took me right at 12 hours. That was taking my time and listening to a ball game and doing some stuff on and off for the DW. The biggest problem people have is they raise the hood and become overwhelmed at what they see. The air filter box on a '03 duramax is literally held in the truck with one (1) hose clamp.
I'm not saying people should tackle pulling the motor. I'm just stating that people could do more than they thing if they just tried a little bit. The PS 6.0 injector job is actually easier just mor stuff to take off.
Passenger side injectors on an 2003 duramax done and getting ready to start putting back together. Things that were removed: air filter box and tube, air tube to the inner cooler, fuel filter housing, FICM (fuel injection control module) 4 high pressure fuel lines, two piece valve cover.
![[image]](http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae169/transamz9/DSCF0214_zps8c3f402c.jpg) I did a set with a buddy on his 01, what a PITA but when we also did a LBZ it was a 1hr job for a single, got to like the redesign just a holddown clamp and yank. took longer to get ready then the actual job. but you need the flow specs loaded into the ECM for them to work right

Funny, because I was on the fence with ford diesels for a while because ford was the only choice for powerful towing Vans. I lost a sweet deal on a quigley e350 6.0 because I got cold feet after numerous warnings on diesel forums not to buy it.
Then I found a E350 with a 1st gen cummins 5 speed in it. I haven't used it to pull yet, but cant wait.

Thanks!
Interesting fact.. A cummins has makes its power with 30% less moving parts and 50% greater bearing surface than its competition..
Just sayin.. Oh and 1st Gens will run without a battery or alternator.

While you are installing them go ahead and do your coils and plugs while you're at it. Another $7-800. Clean that throttle body too, it might give you a little more power and fuel economy. We all know you need it. LOL! jk
