As a new RV'er, I appreciate your time and effort on this topic. Much thought and effort went into my purchase and your comments made me feel much better about the choice I made. Thanks Again!

Re tanks and miles, I have a 36' '94 HR Imperial with 100 gallon tank. My Cummins 8.3 plus Allison 6spd and 'not in a hurry' speed gives me slightly over 10mpg. My wife won't let me go to empty (she's smart!) but I regularly get to 900 miles before I fill up. (Unless I'm about to leave a low fuel cost state).
Range is very important to me.

Range is very important to me.[/quote] After fuel cost, range is now my key concern. My tank gives me a 1500 to 1800 mile range and this lets me select between several fueling choices which I pre-determine through the internet. My previous MH was a gas V10 with a 75 gal tank and that gave me less fueling options due to it's small tank size.

Johnny,

I'm not a first time buyer, but very nearly so. We recently purchased a 32 1/2 foot/1 slide, and are already thinking of up sizing/grading. Trouble is, with so many different vendors out there, which ones should we go to? My basic question is - Is there any kind of a rating guide, such as Consumer's Report, for motorhomes? I'm looking for a list of what you might call the "preferred" motorhomes in the 32-37 foot, $85,000 - $200,000 price range.

Thanks,
Jake
