I’m converting from lead acid to lithium in our 2022 320CSS. I currently use the Victron app, a battery shunt and a multimeter to monitor my battery. Is there any added value to paying extra for a lithium battery with Bluetooth or am I simply duplicating what I already have? Thanks!

It seems like everything today is either Blue Tooth or Wi-Fi enabled.. Even my freezer. If they offer the same battery one with one without BT and two different size Price Tags... I would choose the least expensive.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

If you want to see what the BMS is doing go blue tooth.
I don't like guessing games--so I'd definitely go with blue tooth--if my climate permitted it.

it is and it isn't you have the Victron stuff to see how many AH have gone in or out of the battery if you want to be able to change your BMS settings on the fly then ya, but if the battery doesn't allow changes but only monitoring through Bluetooth then it's pointless when you already have the Victron setup.
so you have to look at the battery you want, download their app and see what you can do and can't before you decide. if it will allow you to make changes to max and min charge points and other things then it is useful, that is if you want to learn more and make these changes. if you don't then you don't need it.
My question to you is, when you have the Victron setup and a shunt.... What are you using the multimeter for?

IMO, yes, wasted $$ on duplication. I have a Bluetooth battery. I didn’t add a shunt type monitor until after I got a second battery paralleled and still debate with myself if it was needed since with them paralleled, the state of charge should be the same.
You’ve already bought the Victron, a bluetooth battery is gilding the Lilly.

Sounds like your talking about a drop-in style battery - if so, I’m not aware of ANY drop-in w/bluetooth that displays BMS Info…BMS operates ‘passively’ to avoid catastrophic events (upper and lower charge limit and temp parameters), and secondarily for individual cell balancing…Perhaps PT can inform us about a drop-in make with the feature he suggested??
Personally, I’d skip the Bluetooth…

Most measureing devices, even Victron, drift on capacity over time. I'd want to be able to stop charging at 85% and recharge when capacity was 45%. Then once per 30 days I'd want to fully recharge.

Yes to BT if it allows you to monitor individual cells and set the safety limits. I have it on my DIY 280ah batteries, it can help diagnose an issue if you have a problem with the individual cells in the battery.

Lots of let you adjust some parameters with the blue tooth now as the blue tooth is part of the BMS, they just lock out the settings they don't want you to play with when they design the app that is used to connect. so, for instance, I bought the JBD BMS for my battery and using its native app I can alter any BMS setting, but if I was making them and selling them, I would make my own app designed off the native JBD but lock out any setting that is there for the safety of the battery like the low temp cut off for example. others I might limit the range it can be adjusted within. all easy enough to do if you're an app designer.
