Hello. I am having an issue with a repair from camping world in Hamburg pa.
We recently bought a used 2015 keystone fusion 345. The first year we owned it we developed a crack on our exterior wall. We took it to camping world in Hamburg pa and they fixed it. It was not the prettiest repair as it was not very smooth but I accepted the repair and was glad the crack was fixed and figured I can live with the wavy looking repair. About 6-8 months later the crack reappeared. And I now had a large bulge in the interior wall. I took it back to camping world in January of 23’. 5 months later I get it back and was told that the interior wall was from old water damage. So being very capable and handy I cut out the interior wall panel and removed all the deteriorating plywood exposing the foam insulation. Looked like an easy fix actually.
Until yesterday. We have been in a drought and we finally got rain. So I decided that I better go look in the camper and check.
Water was leaking in bad where the repair was made. The foam insulation board was easily removed and there was tons more water damage and rot and black mold. Looked like it’s been leaking for a while. I don’t think the original repair was done correctly. That’s why it cracked again on the outside. My minor water damage initially has turned into a major issue and I have no confidence in the body shop at Hamburg store.
I am so upset with this repair since as far as I’m concerned this camper is trashed. Resale value is trashed. Hopefully someone can read this and help me get this resolved.
I contacted the service manager and sent him pictures of the damage and leaking water late yesterday afternoon and I will be calling him again today. But I figured I might as well trying to contact someone else too.
Please help me with my camper.

Was there water damage there before you bought it?

None that we were aware of. About a month after buying it a bulge developed on the exterior wall panel from water getting in and it cracked due to freezing. We took it right in for repair and thought all would be good. But now it’s real bad.

Sounds like the crack and not the leak was repaired. Likely there was prior undetected damage anyway.

You may have to stay after them and visit in person if possible and bring the trailer if convenient. They may take it in on the spot. Sometimes tho I have heard from others the dealers will simply park it on the back lot and do nothing until harassed by the owners. I was fortunate for over 15 years of no serious issues with my good quality late model used R Vision Trail Cruiser TT by Monaco Coach. Good luck.

Thank you all for the replies. I am in contact with the shop but really am wary of them messing it up more. I will be taking another very intensive look at it again this afternoon.

Yup in the process of fixing it my self. Cut out all the rotted wood today. Also found where it looks like the water was getting in.

I can’t find how to load pictures on here so I’ll try and explain it.
This is on a 2015 fusion 345 fifth wheel toy hauler.
Where the top and right hand side of the nose cone meets the roof.
This is where the rain gutter ends and has the little spout to direct the water out and away.
First thing I noticed was they slid the little spout rearward and blocked around 80% of the spout opening creating a bit of a dam. Right up and under the spout there is actually a defect/ hole in whatever body filler they used but the real problem that I saw was just forward of the spout is where the side molding comes up the side. I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s like 3/4” wide and has that robber strip that covers the screws.
Well there was like a 1/2” diameter hole/ gap behind that aluminum strip.
So yesterday I went crazy and ripped out all of the caulk they put in and cleaned it up nice. Then used pro flex sealant in all the holes I could find. I also cut the gutter and remounted the spout. I let it cure overnight.
So today I got home during a good but short storm and all looked dry.
So I decided to do my own sort of water test.
I zip tied a hose to a step ladder and let it rip on the spot full bore for about 15 minutes.
And……..
It freaking leaked.
But barely.
So I got back up on the ladder and find the pro flex didn’t set up!?!
So the only thing I can figure is that tube I used was at least a year old and went through a freeze and thaw and possibly went bad.
Sooooo today I scraped it all out. Cleaned it with some harsh chemicals and bought a new tube of the pro flex. She’s all back sealed up and tomorrow I will be trying my water test again.
I really wish I could post pictures on here.
The repair is really bad. Very wavy. Enough to catch it on camera. And seeing from the inside out the sheet metal they jammed in the delaminating plywood is something to see too!!
I actually wanted to fix the initial crack myself but my better half insisted on taking it somewhere. I would have done it very differently. From the inside out!
I will also put this out there.
I contacted the headquarters complaint department and they got back to me today. And the lady was very nice and really seemed like she wanted to help.
Also the service manager and general manager are supposed to be coming to my house to look at it. But they still haven’t gotten back to me with a time yet.
I will try and keep you all updated on progress.
