It was smart of you to do that. I hope it all works out quickly.

Not cheap is right!!! Estimate to ship 15' long panel from Elkhart to NW WA was over $1,300. $4,700 to RnR and do three color paint with clear coat and buff.

Hi Jerry, I was there for the inspection. Three doors hit the bottom of the opening, not terrible but was obviously hitting. I left thinking they would simply adjust the doors and I’d be good to go.

One other thing is where the front cap met the main body. Whatever they use to cover the seam was not flat against the Coach. There was maybe a couple inches where it wasn’t fully seated.

I understand one other thing that has held things up is my coach has full body paint. The dealer still doesn’t know if the J-Wrap is coming painted or not. If not the dealer will need even more time to get that done.

I spoke with the inspector the other day and he was surprised the coach is still there!

^^I agree as to responsibility.

A question OP...is the J-wrap actually damaged, bent/kinked, or is the fitment just wrong, not allowing the baggage door to close properly? Can it be taken loose, adjusted for better fitment? Do you have a picture?

I'm thinking an alternative solution, pending severity, of issue/damage, the dealer/manufacturer may allow someone else (body shop) do the repair, at their expense, or maybe discount your purchase accordingly.

Frustrating for sure. Hopefully your dealer will step up and work with you, or you may try calling the manufacturer direct. You seem to be a sensible, and patient person, that can work with these people to reach a satisfactory outcome.

It’s a new coach and over and above the dealer PDI, I had an RV inspector go over the Coach. All of the things that were found were noted by the inspector and confirmed by the dealership. So it’s all on the manufacturer/dealer.

If the damage occurred before you take possession and you note it as needing repair before taking possession...yeah, they are stuck dealing with regardless of if it technically meets the definition of "warranty" work.

But like all warranty work, there is little incentive to do it quickly once the buyer has taken possession.

If what the OP has stated is true, the solution is to demand his money back for failure to provide the RV in proper new condition. Might even be to his benefit as I suspect the sales boom is nearing the end, so prices might come down if he goes to buy in a month or two.

In that case, go ask for your money back...that is likely to light a fire under someone...or you get your money back and go find a unit somewhere else.

Hi guys, I think I understand the reality of the RV industry and the units their capable of turning out. Made even more so with supply chain issues, Covid etc. Sometimes I think we even carve out an exception because “We’re talking the RV industry after all. But that doesn’t mean it right or acceptable?!

The Coach has never left the dealership and there looks like there’s no end in sight. It’s frustrating that much I can tell you. At least now I know what J-Wrap is and I thank you for that.
