Subject of research: ....intranasal immunization; mucosal booster vaccines
"Previous studies have examined the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine induced humoral and cellular immunity in the nasal mucosa (15, 16). However, it is still controversial whether intramuscular mRNA immunization can induce meaningful neutralizing antibodies and tissue-resident T and B cells in the nasal tissue (17, 18), potentially in part due to the limited amount of fluids/cells that can be sampled in nasal washes or nasal swabs".
We focused on intranasal immunization in mRNA-immunized mice, in keeping the contention that induction of mucosal immunity likely occurs in previously vaccinated individuals who will be willing to receive mucosal booster vaccines.

I looked but have not found the published study.
Have not seen the FDAs final ruling on what studies will be required for updated Covid vaccines.

I saw ambiguities in reports from independent medical news sources that conflict about subtypes addressed in the "updated" serums of Pfizer. None of which touches on B.A.4 or B.A.5 variants.

I have seen published studies (phase 2/3 trials) of Pfizer and Moderna bivalent vaccines with various combinations of wuhan, alpha, delta, or Omicron (ba.1). I’ve seen press releases about both working on vaccines with ba.4/5 but no data.
