Tell that to GM Ford Rivian etc.

Musk did invite other manufacturers to pitch in with paying for building Tesla SCharger network but no one cared.

Tesla buyers paid for this, why should they wait for other slower charging cars ?

There has been some talk from the Whitehouse about subsidizing charging systems that are open to the general public. If that comes about Tesla is going to open theirs to the general public and use the money to greatly expand the system. I expect that Tesla will charge non-Tesla vehicles about what they would pay at Electrify America, which is about double what Tesla owners get charged. But, as you pointed out, Tesla owners paid for the fixed cost of the Tesla system up front and now just have to pay for the energy they use.

Here is a map. Zoom in a bit to your area.

Looks like there is or will soon be an electric path to Alaska. I had no idea this was moving so fast.

"Tusk is doing an excellent job of farming the government just as I said he would. I give him an A+."

How is Elon doing that? Biden's proposed EV incentives deliberately exclude Tesla and Biden is trying to coerce Tesla into sharing their charging network so that other brands have a good place to charge the cars.

"Where is that semi by the way? It was 2018 and then 2019 and then for sure 2020 and now I'm sure you will say for sure at the end of 2021!!"

Show me a lot from any brand with any new trucks on it. What is to you anyway?

"Do you want to do another prediction?"

No

I'm old enough to remember that Tesla Plaid was going to beat Porsche in the "Ring". The picture below shows how it worked out. [emoticon]

So the pre production test vehicle had some issues. This is not settled yet. I expect to see a production model on the ring before the end of the year.

But Tesla will probably be bankwupt by then right?

Production cars are not built on one fast lap. If that were the case we would all be driving NASCAR's or Top Fuel cars.

Always just a year away......and then another year away.......Do you want to do another prediction?
Track record for production electric vehicles at the "ring" has now been set by an unmodified production Model S.

Ball is in your court Porsche..... need to find an additional 12 seconds.

Right, that's why NHTSA has opened an investigation, and the FTC may follow suit over Tesla's marketing of driver assistance, autopilot or whatever it's supposed to be. There's obviously an issue besides the loose nut behind the wheel.

I drive a Toyota with less sophisticated features like lane keeping assistance and collision avoidance. Hasn't aimed me at another vehicle yet.

I bet you don't sit in the back seat when driving like some idiots in Teslas ?

If Tesla is guilty of anything it is under estimating the stupidity of many Americans. However, I am really looking forward to Version 10 of FSD that is supposed to be released next month.

Simple solution.
Tesla should make all buyers read vehicle manual and learn how to safely operate AP feature and sign the statement saying so,
before seling them the car.
