I want to revisit the piece of steel on the drivers side, that the front cap connects to and runs all the way up to the top of the sidewall.

As you can see, and as I said before, I cut this off short, so I could trim it up later. It was only welded at the back and inside.

In this pic, this is the piece I removed, and as you can see, this is how it came out.

The green arrow is at the back, the yellow is the inside, the blue is the front, and the red is the outside.

As you can see in this pic, the outside is not damaged. That is a good thing. I can use that side to get a good measurement when I start cutting new pieces to replace these.

If you want to do something, you will find a way.
If you don't, you will find an excuse.

A lot of experience, comes from bad judgement.

Here we can see the difference between the left side and the right sides, at the front.

You can see that not all the framing is the same, due to the right side having a window, and the left side having a door.

The bottom framing is from the drivers side, and the top pieces are from the passengers side.

And here is why taking this section apart in one piece is kinda cool.

I cut the new pieces with the angles, and then clamped it directly on top of the old piece. After matching everything up, with it clamped in place, now I can weld it, and know that it will be a good fit.

Starting off with a new testing scale, and some new test weight.

Here is a bag of old computer hard drives, floppy drives, cd drives, and a couple of quarts of paint from Por 15, along with a battery from my Ryobi tools.

So, we are looking at about 26 pounds or so. Our last test was about 22lbs.
