How about a little closer.
If you want to do something, you will find a way.
If you don't, you will find an excuse.

And yes, it looks pretty much like this in real life. This time, it's not just the bubbling of the glue, with the steel being fine underneath.
There is too much pitting to allow this to stay in.

So, the bottom line is, everything with a red line through it, is going to have to be replaced with new steel.
There is a high likelyhood, that the stuff with the yellow lines will have to be replaced also.
The yellow lines are the pieces of steel under the trim, which the front cap is pop riveted to.
So, what that means is, all of the steel in both walls will have been replaced, by the time I am done. All of it.
Apparently in order for this rv to stay in good shape, as far as making sure nothing would leak over the years ....... would require periodically removing every screw, pop rivet, piece of trim, all of the caulk, and replace with new caulk, new sealed pop rivets, new sealed screws, etc.

So, obviously, this design doesn't work over the long term. Putting things back together using the same design, will, over time, yield the same results.
Time to do something different, on re-assembly.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

Nice job Bruce. Is there an airspace between the insulation and the inside paneling also?

There is. The dual air gap is why I think it worked so well.

So, here we are ready to remove this section of the side wall.
I made cuts inside the red circles, shown with the red lines. After making those cuts, this whole assembly just came off, in one piece.
The yellow circles, indicate where screws were holding this section of steel in, but they were screwed in from the back side. More on that later.
