This is probably the best pic I have that shows the texture of the fiberglass roof. It is not a smooth fiberglass like the newer stuff. The roof in this pic is very dirty, so the texture shows up very well.

Here is a shot of the side of the rv at the top.........

And this one, we have a bunch going on.....
In the green we have the fiberglass roof.
In the yellow, we have the rear fiberglass cap, and something that someone put on there some time ago. It looks like a tape that is about 4" wide or so, but doesn't really cover the seam, and didn't hold up well.
In the red, is a raised area, that goes over top of the fiberglass cap, and over the fiberglass roof, so I am not fully sure if the cap overlaps the fiberglass roof, or if they are just butt joined them together. It is screwed down every 4-6" or so, and is caulked on both front and back, as well as the screw heads.
What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, yeah, I remember now. You did show that picture of the roof before where that little 1/4" hole was that allowed water inside. I've never seen a roof in that condition before, close up anyway. How can a fiberglass, TPO or EDPM roof get all mottled like that, I wonder? That's gotta be mold right? Because it lived under a tree for many years probably.
In any case, wow, there's a lot of work ahead. Sorry I interrupted your interior work.

You didn't interrupt anything. No apology necessary.
Not actually sure it's mold. It looks more like a black dust.

After more grinding, and using metal prep, and then a couple of coats of paint, we have this.........

What a difference a little paint (Por 15) makes.

No.. Lol...
The 2 stumps at the top of the pic, are actually aluminum, with an aluminum rail attached at the top. The rail is visible in the pic from the side.

A couple of months ago I had built the steel replacements that support the step, but did not install them, because I wasn't fully sure I was going to leave the entry area where it was.
Now, that has been decided not to move the entry area, I can finish them up. I won't have to use a stool to get in and out any more. Yay.....
