Now, here's something you don't see every day.....
If you want to do something, you will find a way.
If you don't, you will find an excuse.

Good judgement comes from experience.
A lot of experience, comes from bad judgement.

And since we can't post any large items here, the link to the gif is here.

And no, I don't really have any plans of using this on our rebuild.
I just ran across it, and thought it was something different.

While we are still in the front cap area, here is another area, to investigate a little bit.
This pic shows the area just below the windshield, where there are bolts that go through the fiberglass to the inside.
And by the way, yes, that is a little more than 4" of "coating to an inch" of snow on the windshield.

Here is a close up of one of those bolts, and as you can see, it uses a completely different head than any other bolts that I have seen on this rig.
If there are any more of these anywhere, I haven't seen them yet.

Here you can see what is behind the fiberglass, with the nuts on the inside of the bolts, through the fiberglass.
There is a steel plate that is bolted to the fiberglass, and also screwed to the plywood, which is part of the bottom of the dash.
That holds the front of the dash in place, and keeps it from moving.

And here is a wider shot of under the front cap. This is the center at the front, so you can see how the dash is secured.

Here is something else, I never really paid much attention to. This is the area below the windshield.
The area just below the red arrow is where the door is that allows access to check the engine oil, and anti-freeze for the engine, and so forth.
The red arrow indicates the path that the water will take, when it's raining, and the rig is sitting still. As you can see, the water will run down into the crack between the cap and the door that opens.

Now with the door open, (top), you can see the water follows the red line.
It runs down behind the door, and at the end of the red line, it just falls straight down.
If you ever wondered why your batteries are always wet during or after a rain, that's why.
There is nothing to divert the water elsewhere to keep it off of the batteries, or anything else that may be behind the cap.
This is the view of the passenger side, but the drivers side is just like this.
Obviously, this is at the bottom of the list, priority wise, to be changed.
