And here is the biggie!!!

The lower right in the red circle shows the weld of the top rail there.

Inside the yellow circle, you can see just a faint amount of white Sikaflex 252 squeeze out.

The red arrow points to the rail which has a number of screws, which are screwed in from the inside, into this rail.

So, all in all, this day finally came, when this was welded in place.

This side seemed to take forrrrreeeeeeverrrrrrr.

It really didn't, but it seemed long. It was longer than the right side, but all I did on the right side, was duplicate what was there, and this was some custom work.

Anyway, it's in place and welded in. Yay!!!!!!!!!

Before I continue posting new pics, I wanted to follow up a little bit with a couple of things.

First, you will remember in the following pic, that last week, I had said I wanted to add 1" to the rear of these "legs" (red circles), so that the left side would line up better with the front cap. (red arrow)

So, I blew up a couple of pictures showing the difference. The first is how it would look without adding the 1".

As you can see, the bottom half of the front cap barely lines up with the steel, without that addition.

That was why Fleetwood had added the 1" angle steel on the front of the bottom of this.

Now, after adding the 1" pieces, that moved the bottom end of the framing front far enough, so that the front cap now is about at the center of the steel.

The angle of the photo is different from the last one, but even with that, you can still see the difference.

I saw no reason to add the angle steel to the bottom half, so I just left it off. (weight savings, Lol.)

Next will be to remove the row of screws on the passenger side front, and add some Sikaflex 252 over there.

When I assembled the other side, I wasn't sure what I was going to put in there, so I didn't put anything there.

After removing about a half dozen screws, I can pry that steel out enough to squeeze some Sikaflex in there and then reinstall the screws.

That should help with sealing out the elements, air, and prevent squeaks from developing, with vibration going down the road.

Also, I should be able to use some of the Sikaflex to help make sure the seal between the front cap and the dash is good.

Also ordered a set of these 40 grit flap sanding wheels off of Amazon, yesterday, so they should be here tomorrow.

The 5 that I had bought a couple of months ago, as starting to get a little ratty - as in they don't have a lot of sanding ability left in them any more.

These were $19.99 for a pack of 10. So, we can add that to the already total of $1226.39 for a grand total of 1246.38.

Everything adds up, but there will be some cheaper alternatives coming later on in the build.

One of the things that the medical establishment has in it's corner is using drugs for things that they were not originally intended.

That is, a drug was developed for a certain condition, and after people start using it, they found out that, that particular drug works on other conditions, which wasn't known when the drug was released.

I believe they call it "off label" use. It works well, but it was kind of accidental, in discovering its other uses.

That's what I mean by using some things later on in the build, that originally were intended for something else, but will work for other things as well.

That's why some of those bus builds would cost $10,000 instead of $30,000.
