Got some welding done today.

I welded in these 3 pieces, indicated by the red arrows.

Also welded in 2 J.I.C.'s.

J.I.C.

Just in case.

Just in case I change my mind during re-assembly.

I welded in a couple of short extra pieces of steel, so if I decide not to move the emergency brake bracket, I will still have a solid mounting point.

As you can see here, I have the window located roughly, and will have to weld in a couple of new pieces of steel for support.

This doesn't match the original setup, so I will have to lay this out as I go. Not a great big deal, but does take some extra time.

Well, here is where we left off last night, so this is also where we started off today.

And this also, is where we started off today with our grinding wheel.

And after some grinding through the steel to cut pieces to length, this is where we ended up with our grinding wheel, at the end of the day.

Dude, why not get one of those diamond encrusted iron cutting wheels?

What caused that you may ask?

Glad you asked.

I cut these pieces of steel to length today. Total of about 5 pieces, that are shown with a green line on them.

I actually have one of those for my Ryobi grinder. I really don't care for it all that much.

For one thing, it's noisy, and not very forgiving if I move the grinder much. That would not be a problem with the chop saw, other than the noise.

Besides, this gives me something to write about. Lol....

This area here in the yellow circle is the one that I labeled J.I.C.

Yup, Just In Case.

Well, I decided today to add the extra piece of steel in between the two so that I can mount the emergency brake securely.

I am not going to move it.

These extra pieces will allow it to be mounted to all steel.

Jim, this one is for you.

This is what happens when you weld too close to flammable material. You know like a piece of fabric on top of a piece of plywood.

On the up side, I could use this for eye holes for a sheet next Halloween, with the rest of the sheet draped around me.

No, I didn't burn the place down, nor light the plywood on fire, nor burn the gloves off of my hands, or anything else.

No harm, no foul. Lol.....
