Was not aware of his military service, but indeed the words 'war hero' and selfless applies. His driver roster over his years of team ownership reads like a Who's Who of NASCAR. Among them, some guy named Earnhardt Sr. I believe...... |

Anybody realize that the NASCAR year-end banquet was in Vegas last night? Also next season teams can't use their air guns as they will be rented from FRANCECAR, two guns, $900.00 a race. And what an owner Bud Moore was, his crew seemed like it never changed year after year. Not to be confused with "Little" Bud Moore a driver for awhile in the same time period. |

We were in Vegas last year, and if you didn’t walk by that particular hotel, you would never have known they were having the banquet. Time to move it to Charlotte. Some teams are paying $2,500 to $3,000 for their air guns which are computer controlled, and have to be rebuilt for about $1,000 each between each race. $900 for two guns rebuilt after each race is a good price. I watched the show and was puzzled by the fact that nobody was smiling in the audience. Joe Gibbs especially. I hope that he's OK. Mr. Hass was deadpan as were many other owners. As usual Dale Jarrett was the most entertaining. Brian France couldn't wait to get off the stage after his presentations to Junior and Martin. Odd. I guess that they can't let the 16 Chase drivers speak as it would take forever but I miss the 10 speech format. Some really great ones over the years. Sherry Pollex looked somewhat embarrassed by all the attention considering that the other wives/partners were mostly ignored. The 500 will be here before we know it. |

PawPaw, at lest the teams had control over their OWN guns, just wait until one of the Francecar's takes a dump during a pit stop. The money has already been spent by the teams developing their own guns, as usual a day late and a dollar short. Bucky, you are right about Brian. He sure didn't get good reviews this AM in the Vegas Review Journal. 2015 was the last I was in Sin City for the race and racewear being worn was pretty much a thing of the past.

Sell it Brian or completely turn it over to someone else and take your money and go fishing... Let someone else have it while it is still somewhat alive. "If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane." Arctic Fox 25Y GMC Duramax Blue Ox SwayPro ![]() |

What the leadership of NASCAR sees as a problem is the growing gap between a few elite big money teams and the rest of the field. They are the ones who talk to team owners and recommend rule changes to Brian. The bigger issue than lowering the costs of air guns will be forcing Gibbs, Hendrick, Stewart-Haas to not have 10-15 extra people on thier pit crew team. Cutting the over the wall pit stop team to five, with the fueler not able to do things like crank in a wedge adjustment is going to lengthen pit stops. Only the jackman, two tire changers and one tire carrier will be a big change. Limiting the number of people who can work on things like handing tires and gas cans and tools over the wall will also be something which requires changes. Cutting back on the number of chassis, body and engine specialist allowed in the garage will be interesting to watch. But I don’t think it will achieve the goal of helping smaller teams stay in the sport. Probably in two years the number of cars starting the race will be cut back to 36, because that many or fewer cars will be all that are showing up. |

Well it looks like Danica's talks with the "Chipster" have broken down.
