A real 18 fan would watch regardless. Just pulling your chain [emoticon].
Maybe they can switch with the 78 next time.

Ain't it a hoot that Hendrick changes crew chief for Kasey Kahne now that season's down to last 9 races and he's history with Hendrick after Homestead.....

Rodden had been on thin ice for quite awhile. The Chicago weekend was a disaster and the final straw. It's a desperate attempt to make the next round.

Kahne gets ride for next year with the #95 team.

Yes, he does. Sponsorship is everything in NASCAR, but Kahne's performance has been less than stellar through his entire tenure at Hendrick, this season in particular. Why so long to change team makeup, when he's been scraping along pretty much the entire season? Terminating him seems to be and admission from Hendrick that Kasey ain't got 'it' anymore, sponsorship departure aside.

IMO Rick Hendrick thinks Kasey doesn't have what it takes to attract sponsors. The new stars will have a pedigree AND match a certain "profile". Good examples are Blaney and Elliot.

Kasey has a contract thru 2018 with Hendrick, and Leavine Family Racing gets their stuff from Hendrick, thus I would say it is a "fulfillment" of the contract.
I also liked what JR. had to say about burnouts. Finally somebody goes public with what racers have known for years. Sort of like when Ole D. W. detonated the motor, dumping the clutch on the back stretch, in Junior Johnson's car after the Winston at Charlotte. Detonated no way to measure the cylinders and he was walking the dog that night.

Recall a couple seasons back after a Gibbs Racing victory ( Hamlin or Kyle, don't recall which), the crew chief instructed his driver to 'burn it down', and he did. Blew both rear tires, completely obliterated the quarter panels on both sides and the rear corner at the bumper. No doubt trying to conceal some aero 'massaging' of the body sheet metal.

NASCAR as recently as this season issued a 'reminder' to teams about the practice and post-race inspection, but guess they aren't serious about it either.

Was it Richard Petty that once said, 'If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'?
