How will we know? Danica ran at Richmond and media reports I've seen characterized the attendance as sad and abysmal.

Cloud, because of FRANCECAR spin doctors trying to sell snake oil! As you are a former track owner and promoter, you should be well versed!
Just as this ambulance situation. NASCAR wants to portray professionalism but they continue to fumble the pumpkin. They have some doctors and EMTs on the circuit. Probably the reason the ambulances aren't part of the circus, they don't have a sponsor. They can drive the Titan Track Dryers all over Hells creation! But not ambulances.

You need to be more knowledgeable about how racetracks try to avoid losses. First of all, a racetrack has to have insurance coverage. The insurance companies drop a hint here and there,....like DO NOT be a good samaritan. Somebody gets hurt, HANDS OFF. Look into hiring professional services (trained and licensed operators of emergency vehicles and personnel), and do your best at selecting the best available, and don't tell them how to do their business.
But then, who am I? What do I know? I suggest you contact an expert who has the latest information.

I think the impact will be minimal, there aren't that many butts in the seats at some tracks now. If anybody has an impact it will be JR.
The times they are a changing.

'An Inside Baseball' Look at NASCAR Team Sponsorship

Thanks, Thomas, sure missed that! Times must be tough that nobody has posted about the first "Playoff" from the Windy City.

Didn't watch it but see I missed nothing. Was watching the 'Boyz getting shredded by the Broncos.

I watched most of it and it wasn't very exciting.

I was completely shocked when Truex won. [emoticon]

Given we are now in the midst of the playoffs, I would assume that some of the key metrics (tv viewership and at-track attendance) would show an uptick?

I quit watching when I learned that Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez switched crews. I worked on the motorhome while I waited for the IndyCar race at Sonoma.

From the stories I read, that didn't pan out well for the 18.

The Bob Pockrass column on ESPN website was interesting in that the court case is revealing inner workings of a sponsorship arrangement for a Cup team. Numbers vary I suppose, but that's more info than I ever knew about how it works.
