And, they might have to "liquid-rule" the rules again to give him another chance to do the "impossible"....[emoticon]

He and his team seem to be in desperation mode right now. Making too many mental mistakes each week.

Sure he is the best driver out there, but he and his team have thrown away four solid chances to win this year by my count.

Last Sunday wasn't one of those. It was just good hard racing. I could tell from his interview that he knew that, though I'm sure he wished that Martin with his wins would have held back a little to let his almost teammate get a win.

Well I don't get NBC so I missed what sounds like an interesting race. I tried checking in a few times using the nbc website and it was a mess, very slow, to the point that it was just a waste of time.

I guess there was a dust-up between Kyles crew chief and Martin's crew after the race. Short video at the link below if you haven't seen it yet.

The last couple days I've been on the road quite a bit, mostly I5 in Washington. I passed no less than 3 trucks with #18 Kyle Busch stickers in the back window. Good thing I didn't have a Joey Logano sticker in my back window else there might have been a problem. [emoticon]

Finally, PawPaw mentioned Kenny Shrader. I got to meet him years ago when he was running in the truck series, and at a local track. I think they were called Super Trucks back then. He seemed like a real down-to-earth guy with a good sense of humor. Of course he probably would want to forget that particular weekend as he got his thumb caught up in a fan belt pulley and cut the end of his left thumb off.

I don't know what is more impressive, the fact that I found a picture of Shraders thumb on the internet or that I actually remembered something that happened 22 years ago. [emoticon]

SOME GOOD RATINGS NEWS

I wonder if this might inspire NASCAR to talk to Fox & NBC asking them to consider to put more of the races on the primary networks rather than the dedicated cable sports channels. Brickyard was hardly scintillating racing, but other than the Junior's last ride at Indy, could where the race aired have made the difference in TV ratings? Neither FS 1 or NBCSN are 'first tier' channels on any cable or satellite provider around these parts.

Joe Gibbs Racing has suspended two of Martin Truex's pit crew members for three races. The next three races the #78 will run with new tire changers.

The pit crews for the #78 team are trained and supplied by JGR. They are JGR employees, not Furniture Row Racing.

Ahh, that's right. Keeping it all in the family I guess.

Wow, lots and lots of news today. Paul Menard (and his dad's money) to the Wood Brothers next year. Ryan Blaney to a third team (#12) for Penske Racing. Target announces it's leaving motorsports entirely.....and Ganassi Racing's 42 team.

Will Richard Childress be a two car team in 2018? Will Ryan Newman still have a ride or will he be replaced by Ty Dillon?

Perhaps the tough guy cowboy NOW knows the ID of the guy he tried to push around.....[emoticon]
But, I'm sure that Marten Truex knows he took out his "cousin-team mate", who was on his way to a winning a sure spot in the finals.

RCR says they will have a 3 car team for next year. The logical assumption is Ty will replace Menard of course.

HA HA, guess who's locked into the chase?? Quite the driving display in the closing laps.

Martin was very careful to never push too hard against Kyle today.

Good drive by Kyle late, about the fourth or fifth time this year we've seen someone with good tires late take a win that way. Certainly put Kasey Khane in a position to win last week.
