Not really sure what to make of that 'show'. The Busch/Truex incident appeared to me that Kyle thought he was in an Indycar. He's outside of Truex into Turn 1 and drives down across the 78's front bumper. Truex looked like he was carrying too much speed into 1 and couldn't hold his line. What they both knew was he who gets to P1 first can drive away from the pack. 'Team' Kyle? Really? Last I knew Truex drove for Furniture Row Racing, he ain't giving nothing up to you! And.....the winner of the 'Go Til She Blows' award.....Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin! Now that's getting everything out of your car! And once again, NASCAR is left to explain their decision making on the finish. Steve O'Donnell's explanation might have flown except when NBC showed Hamlin's wreck in real time, they overlaid the 'overtime line' on the screen. Clearly showed Hamlin wrecking, cars scattering behind the leaders, who had NOT reached the overtime line. Yellow came on well after the wreck allowing the 5 & 2 to cross the line. I get the decision, it was getting dark and would have been darker by the time cleanup of the wreck was completed. Just be honest NASCAR. And last. Per the Indianapolis Star, the estimated race attendance was 35,000. They didn't explain where/how that was calculated, but it's hard to argue. The grandstands were a ghost town, they didn't have enough advertising banners to cover the empty expanses of seats. |

Ya, that was a delayed, "mercy caution," so they could finally end it. Another red flag would have put them into complete darkness. I have had questions and issues with the timing of some cautions that have been called in the past, this one was a good call. "If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane." Good for Junior, pleased to know he won't be just 'getting by' and clipping coupons as 'Golden Years' Dale. I know he's honoring his current season commitment to Hendrick, but I wish he'd pull the plug now. His future health isn't worth the risk. Now comes the question: Who is NBC sacking to make room for Junior? Have to believe they're going to showcase him on the Cup coverage. Jeff Burton? Junior has a great media presence, he'll just have to be careful of his sometimes colorful language. |

Hopefully Jr. replaces Jeff Burton. For me, he talks too much and is annoying. |

thomasmnile, I saw it the way Marten Truex told it in the interview. He said it was all his fault, and he apologized to Kyle Busch. And, what he described is exactly what I saw. Of course, I had the advantage of watching every single replay. Also, Michael Marot wrote, "But, when Truex's car started to spin on lap 111, everything changed. Truex tapped Busch's No.18 car, sending both into the wall." Willie & Betty Sue Miko & Sparky 2003 41 ft Dutch Star Diesel Pusher/Spartan Floorplan 4010 Blazer toad & Ranger bassboat |

Now if they would stop running all those noisy in car cameras and on the track cameras with cars going by at 200 mph and get back to watchin' the race some where on the track....I wouldn't have to run the mute button so much. DE jr seems like a guy with a great weight lifted off him this season. NBCSP may have to rub off some rough spots and polish him a little for booth work. Good for him and even better for Casey. Its alway nice to see the good guys come out on top. "good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment" ............ The car out front in the clean air left everyone in the dust, they knew it, they both went for it, it didn't work out for either of them. Kyle's snarky post crash interview is his preferred method of whining. My opinion, of course.......Such are the fortunes of auto racin'. |

I really don't know what you guys want. You say you want close racing, but when you get it, you complain about too many wrecks. Yesterday's race was a boring runaway by two great drivers in fantastic cars. The were racing, and like happens, they ran out of race track. Then it was anybody's race. One fellow said Jimmy Johnson should have pulled off. Come on get real. Is a guy running for the winning touchdown going to stop because his sho comes off? Last caution. The NBC replay missed one thing about their side by side real time replay. A timer. You expect precognition? It takes two or three seconds for the yellow flag to be thrown, and absolutely NONE of the cars behind the wreck will be paying attention to the yellow or green flag. They are trying to miss the wreck, flags don't matter. I guess what some of you want is an excuse to complain. You don't like racing. You like complaining.
