But only 19 cars even opted to practice, the rest apparently deciding to save their stuff for qualifying and the race.

Jr was also fastest in qualifying.

X-finity race at 12 PM. Eastern Saturday. Tuned in for a short and thought Humpy Wheeler was in the infield with the boxing! X-finity cars to run special nose for Indy, a one time use. And use a carbon fiber body at Richmond, another one time use. Talk about cost, what with X-inity shops trying to keep the doors open along with the purse cuts in the series the last several seasons.

And unfortunately, the weather forecast is a carbon copy of Friday's. Might be the Air Titan 400 tonight.

Oh no, Thomas! Funny, there was an excellent article in the Daytona paper this week that maybe the July race in Daytona had run it's course. Written by I believe Ken Willis who was writing for the Journal when we were there in the 70's,80's and 90's.

Yep, Ken Willis and Godwin Kelly still writing for the Daytona News Journal. It's weird, yesterday thunderstorms formed west of I-95 as is typical in the summer here and moved inland up and down the coast, except Volusia County. Same thing is happening right now, radar shows Volusia covered in storms.

I noticed there is no shortage of tickets available on the DIS website. And pardon my cynical old butt, BUT, seats aren't selling, maybe Junior's last appearance at Daytona, he wins the pole, and then there's this from NASCAR's website[emoticon]ith fans’ hearts and pole won, Junior eyes Daytona next ". Can't help myself, but this is unfolding in similar fashion to the year he won the XFINITY race in the #3 Wrangler Chevy. NASCAR loves a good story, manufactured or not, and son of a gun that 'popular' female driver qualified in the top 10.

The fix is in.....for someone.

Well it looks like NBC is going to have to focus on another driver to win now.

Super Speedways and restrictor plates produce no racing, just more "follies".
I'll hope for a couple of more road courses.

What a freak show that was. And not even a full moon. Almost half the field wrecked out!

I'm still scratching my head how mr Lucky the 18 spun and took out a few cars and still finished the race. New crew cheif or a rabbits foot? [emoticon]
