Well if/when NASCAR goes belly up, Jimmie Johnson's career will sure be a fitting legacy. I know he's getting long in the tooth at 42 and he won't come close to eclipsing Richard Petty's career victories, but I hope he and his crew stay at it long enough to get 8 or more championships and pass David Pearson in career wins. Don't care what era, his performance has been impressive. And if Kyle Larson isn't in the thick of it for the Championship all the way to end I'll be surprised and disappointed. That young man has been up on the wheel every race this season. |

Once again frustration for the 18. Bad call from the pit box at the end? Does Kyle use up his car and not save anything for the finish? Props to Ryan Blaney, he earned his first. Passing the 18 and then outlasting Harvick, who really worked him over the last three laps.

The call that was made on the #18 was stupid. You NEVER want to put your driver in a "sitting duck" position, period!. I don't know who made the call, but apparently it wasn't Kyle. It almost had to come from Joe Gibbs and the unknown substitude crewchief. It was a no-brainer situation. Even if Kyle himself made it, it sure was stupid. But, I didn't hear of anybody picking it up on the radio, did you? I quit watching once I saw that Kyle had stayed out. I knew it was going to be ugly. |

Never heard a word other than Fox guys saying the 18 was staying out. What is with the sudden brake failure epidemic? 4 or more cars yesterday, mostly Chevy, but they mentioned it was brake problem that took out Logano in Kansas.

Whenever the chassis is improperly set up (the lateral grip. the oversteer/understeer ratio not optimized) the driver is forced to use a lot of braking going into the turn. THAT'S what results in the brakes becoming overheated, which causes the caliper o-rings to leak and fail. |

AND, did you see the interview that Brad Kesolowski did with Ryan Blaney (in winners circle)? It was just GREAT! You gotta see it.

Way better than the media talking heads could have done. 100 percent genuine on both sides of the microphone. And a question. Anyone beside me left with the impression Junior has already retired???? |
