Topic: Nascar Follies

Posted By: Cloud Dancer on 05/29/17 06:17am

Yeah, at first I couldn't understand why Kyle Busch was disappointed, 'cause the race I watched, HE WON. He did a great job of driving. Then, I saw they gave the win to somebody else. THAT'S when I realized I was watching the "follies"......[emoticon][emoticon][emoticon]

Paid some attention up to weather delay. Don't think the stick 'em had the desired effect. Busch and Truex Jr led most of the race. Another 'Aero Egg' laid.

Sad to say, but back to back comparison of the Coke 600 and the non-stop edge of your seat action of the Indy 500 was no comparison at all.

and then top top it all off a Childress silver spoon grand-baby takes the flag.

Gotta hand it to the Fox broadcast crew. Part of their job is to project enthusiasm and excitement and they work really hard at it but, NASCAR racing is increasingly more effective than an Ambien for sleep.

Nonetheless, congratulations to Austin Dillon, though I'm not at all getting the frenzy over a car numbered '3' winning. If the driver that made 3 famous was behind the wheel, well then.........

Thomas, gotta go with your thought on the 3 deal. A marketing ploy in the Childress camp. Fox should have never shown those old flicks during the rain delay. Now that is when it was good! Forgot about Joey Nuckles, crew chief and front tire changer for Robert Yates, doing a 360 degree spin and jump while coming around the front of the 28 and air hose going under his feet heading to change the left front. Good stuff!

Alright JJ! Starts in the back and wins. career win #83, 3rd this season. Know it's way early, but is '7 Time' on his way to #8??

Nice pit stop there, Kyle. Wonder what crew changes might be on the horizon for the 18?

And how about that top 10 for Danica, wow!!!! (sarcasm off now).

And young Mr. Larson, your driving style actually made Dover somewhat fun to watch. Go get 'em, kid!!!

Random musings.
I thought it humorous after the left rear tire tore up the 18 that his crew chief advised him to come in during the next calamity so that he didn't tear the car up.
On another note how many pit road speeding penalties is this for JR so far this season? I think that somethings not right and that he should get out of the car before he really gets hurt for good.
As to Danica I'm not a fan but she was running good all day.
Lot of empty seats but a decent crowd. Remember that only the track owner gets hurt by empty seats.
The victory lane Monster blonde dejour is a smoking example of eye candy.

Many more outfits hurt by empty seats. Food vendors, program sales, motels, restaurants and I could go on. Oh, and also all the advertising not being seen.

Congratulations to GM, Lowes, Rick Hendrick, Chad Knaus, crewmembers, and Jimmie Johnson. IMO their total performance, through the years, will never be duplicated.
Sure, we can go on and on and on about the demise of NASCAR. Spreading the word about it can only hurt.
