Read a more detailed account on That's Racin on Charlotte Observer site. I'm left with the impression BOTH parties to the sponsorship agreement breached it. Neither party looking to engage in a protracted legal fight to the detriment of both SHR (probably bad form trying to attract future sponsors playing hardball with one in court) and Nature's Bakery (whose financials if believed, never had the resources to play in the big leagues, and realized it a year later).
What's fascinating is Nature's Bakery sponsors 4 races, but only 2 of them for Danica. The That's Racin' story said Danica had a sponsorship agreement with some protein powder and snack bar manufacturer on the side. That, must be the basis of the Nature's Bakery claim SHR couldn't control their driver. Wonder if such activity was forbidden in her SHR contract? Still leaves her with a number of unsponsored races this season, which I'm thinking could well be her last.
