Thanks for that 8.1. Did a Wiki search and found Coke has a 16.7 percent stake in Monster stock.

What I care about is that the Sonoma racetrack is one of the racetracks where we might see some racing. Boy, am I grateful for the excellent TV coverage, it's so much better than being there at the racetrack. Thank you NASCAR. GO KYLE BUSCH! Yes, I know, I know. There's 9 other potential winners. THAT'S the reason I might see some racing. Willie & Betty Sue Miko & Sparky 2003 41 ft Dutch Star Diesel Pusher/Spartan Floorplan 4010 Blazer toad & Ranger bassboat |

Looking forward to Sonoma. Looks like my guy won the pole, good job. My wife seems to have adopted a new rule recently... If her guy (Elliot) doesn't qualify well, she gets to choose a new driver for the race. Sometimes, as a husband you need to know when it's best to remain quiet... ![]() I watched the ARCA race at Gateway yesterday. It's amazing how young those drivers are, except for Kenny Shrader, he is not quite that young anymore. Good to see him still driving a racecar though. Sounds like he stays busy racing in a variety of different series. |

I always enjoy Sonoma, but tomorrow is a travel day so it will be listening to the race on the truck radio. 15 days of dry camping next on the Michigan Upper Peninsula so I’ll also miss the races at Chicagoland and Daytona. But so far this year I’ve been to live races at the Terra Haute and Plymouth Wisconsin tracks. Both great races. (Motorcycles exhibition at Road America when we were in Plymouth.) The type of racing that I wanted to see did NOT materialize. Instead, congratulations to Martin Truex Jr AND his team. "Using a contrarian strategy that included bluffing Kevin Harvick onto pit road earlier than planned in the final stage of Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350, Martin Truex Jr. pulled off a convincing victory in the 16th Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race of the season."

But all 4 Stewart Haas teams finished in the TOP 10!!!! They have got it goin' on this year, whatever 'it' is. ![]() |

Not Really News But....... So Fox concludes another NASCAR season and with the exception of the Michigan race, is down across the board for their broadcasts. Sure, it's the continuation of a trend, likely to be repeated by NBC for their half the season, but is it all on NASCAR? Is it possible the audience is suffering talking head fatigue, particularly the Waltrip brothers strain? I'm sure Fox is wishing they could have landed Junior in the booth. |

That side bar on the screen drives me NUTS. Hope NBC doesn’t do it.

IMO NASCAR has passed the point of no return. It happens over and over. Racing organizations are infiltrated by lobbyists who represent the team owners who have the most money, and this leads to gerrymandering which results in changes which favor the teams who can spend the most money. And, the end result is that the quality of the actual racing goes down, down, down. Just ask yourself, where is the wheel-to-wheel racing that the fans want to see. A few super-fast cars attempting to out-smart each other in the pit stops just doesn't satisfy the fans. Trying to solve the problem after the fans have quit coming is fruitless. GO KYLE BUSCH! Make a few more million so you can retire. |

I agree totally, at any Nascar race you have 8 or 10 cars that actually have a prayer of winning the race. The rest are just field fillers, the talking heads are already identifying the " big Four" before every race as the odds on favorite except for Chase Elliott who is usually included as a fifth possibility. Just for once I would like to see a less funded team win a race even if it had to be a fuel mileage race. Nascar has regulated their competitors to the point that only the better financed teams are competitive.
