Topic: Nascar Follies

Paw Paw I spent 40 years worrying about alignment in a very large refinery/petrochemical complex. Turbines, gearboxes, pumps, etc. The u joints are apparently taking it, but me, I'd have the engine/transmission cocked around and laser aligned to the rear end.
Too bad for Gallagher. Hopefully lesson learned.

Yahoo Sports today: https://sports.yahoo.com/report-france-family-exploring-sale-nascar-194740381.html?src=rss

Remembering several posts ago ThomasMNile posted that he thought that Brian had sold out a number of years ago, maybe this is why his disinterest and being aloof, no pun intended. Now with series sponsorship hunting for 2020 and the search for a suitor, the cheese gets more binding!

The France family completely saturated the NASCAR market. New tracks everywhere. Racing almost every weekend. They ain't the smartest folks. Now wanting to sell at the bottom of the market.

I watched the NHRA race after the NASCAR race on FS1 Sunday and it looked like there were more in the stands at the NHRA race.

8-1 Van, you are correct! I don' usually watch the drags but caught some of it and I sure was thinking the same thing. If you really wanted to see a small "crowd", the Xfinity race Saturday was absolutely terrible. Dover lost money just having ticket takers there.

You're assuming this IS the bottom????????

Sponsorship troubles, a decade or more of sagging attendance, cratering TV viewership. Guess it shouldn't be a surprise. Then again, with all this happening, why did NASCAR just purchase ARCA Series? I like the quote in the ESPN story, that a sale should not be a forgone conclusion. True, may not be a buyer out there for the price they may ask.
