Email and a phone call confirmed my Host is at the dealership. Getting prepped as we speak. I will be getting it tuesday 9am. Getting there Monday night hopefully, depending on weather. Will be staying at dealership
with hook ups that night and will switch the next day. May stay a second night also depending on how fast we move. Then will head south for a day or so and start north on Friday.
I'll prob load the AF this saturday. I keep it inside so weather isn't a factor.

You have to be kidding me. I have been planning for my Host since the Summer of 2014 and you will still get yours before me...

Well, to be honest, we have been thinking about one for a few years. Does that count? It was just one of those things. Everything came together and we ordered. We still have and use our 5th wheel. Last year we got the TC out on 5 different occasions. Meaning it got used for 3-7 days all 5 times. That was the most we had ever used it in 1 year. Prior to that we would have used the MH or fiver. The discussion went along the lines of, if were going to use it more lets get the one we really want. At first there was a used one for sale in NY at a decent price. I missed it, I was second in line. First guy bought it. I could not locate any used ones we really liked for the money and they were all out west. So we ordered and got exactly what we wanted.
First time we have ever bought a new RV and this is the 8th one. Still waiting for Monday, hope weather is decent thru PA and WV.

We also had prior RV's, but were new to TC's when we bought ours in 2012. Our choices were limited due to owning a short bed SRW, but we found a model that had the capacities and amenities we wanted. After completing our annual "long" vacation in 2014, we decided that that flexibility of owning a TC was better for us than any of our previous RV's but we wanted more space and comfort. Not only do we make one long trip a year, we also make at least two short trips each month regardless of weather.
The first step was to upgrade the truck. I figured I better check out these mega TC's to make sure I had sufficient truck for any choice we would make. After talking to Chalet, Eagle Cap and Host owners, I knew I needed more than a pickup to be able to haul our desired TC plus the trailer. So the F250 was sold and the 5500 took it's place. I lucked out on timing - I brought home the 5500 and privately sold the F250 the next day.
With the first hurtle out of the way, I needed to replenish reserves and start narrowing down what would replace our trusty Arctic Fox. Chalet has pretty much dropped out of the TC market and we were not impressed with the double slide offerings by other manufacturers, so it came down to EC and Host. EC had our favor early on, but after digging into the components utilized and lack of flexibility for desired modifications we started to lean toward Host. After getting some feedback from current Eagle Cap owners and seeing EC build quality slipping, we committed to Host.
Our TC will have some customization that is not offered on the build sheet. Some of this has been done on previous builds and others will be a first for Host. We timed delivery to get the newest model year which would also allow us time to sell our AF privately. Surprisingly, it sold just before Christmas leaving us RV-less.
It has been tough being "stuck" at home - We even took a trip and stayed in a hotel. This reminded us why we like to RV and I won't go into it any further.
BTW: We also looked a lightly used Host, but couldn't get the price down to where we wanted to compensate for a less desirable configuration. We decided that if we spend that much, we would not compromise on configuration (a big reason why EC lost out).

You were taking 2 trips a month, can you adopt me and my wife. I would love to hear about your mods
to the Host. Of course I'll probably hear about something I would want. Do you have any pics of your truck with the bed on it?
